Rare herb sounds like saffron, although such thing is considered a spice as the name indicates that it is a rare ingredient which utilizes leaves in cooking. So it is most likely some sort of fictional spice in contrast to the real spices which have been currently named.
I guess a radish cake would make sense for such a combination.
