Agree with this so much. It’s been going on since Galaga joined the team and it’s about time someone finally came out and made a direct statement addressing this sort of attitude.
Lifting up Ript’s work by putting down that of his friends’ is NOT the compliment some people think it is 
Put yourself in his shoes and imagine someone praised you by dissing your buddies. You probably wouldn’t feel entirely good about that, would you? At best, it would be very conflicting and awkward to engage with.
Dehumanizing gamedevs is too common in this community and I really hope that will change someday.
