Reminisence

That isn’t even the main point of this post.
What are you smoking that keeps you from reading something? And even then, did you see what happened more recently than that?

I probably should have read the actual thing thoroughly, you’re right and I apologize. But I just read this bit and assumed you were on your usual tangent.

find a mutual space to exist that isn’t the barren land

bro really hit them with the “i ain’t reading allat”

That’s what I’ve been considering too. I’ve loved being on the forums but all I ever see is pointless drama. Plus I’m getting to a point where it’s time to move into the next stage of my life.

I haven’t played in weeks either, mostly because my Internet is so pathetic I disconnect every—and I’m not exaggerating—two minutes. Sometimes I get lucky and disconnect every five minutes. One time I disconnected every 30 seconds. My laptop isn’t even bad but the game is still pretty much unplayable, since I have to constantly worry about combat logging while I’m farming a boss, hunting my rival, battling pirates, or even doing a diving point. It’s frustrating. Maybe I’ll hop back on when the Dark Sea update drops, but at this point I’m waiting for more story content.

we in the same boat, i literally only open forums out of habit when i’m bored since it’s an app on my phone and that’s why you’ll see me drop in and leave for weeks

Same with me. It’s just a habit at this point. I was hoping to finish a short story I was working on and post it here but I’m running out of interest with AO and the forums.

Honestly, I think this is just a lesson that nothing lasts forever. When we heard that WoM was changing into AO, we were all excited that we would get a better game, but maybe that’s what changed everything? Yes WoM is a worse game, but just because it was “bad” doesn’t mean that it wasn’t fun. I think that since AO took 2 years to make, it took a lot of our vigor out of the game. By the time the game came out, it was already too late. The problems and complexities within the game only made it worse, as well as above 90% of the game changing.

I wonder sometimes that if Vetex kept with developing WoM, would it still be just as enjoyable as it was back then, possibly even more?

We were never a “tight knit” community

Unless you want a call back to the ages where WoM itself was in testing then maybe sure yeah those were good times but most of the community has stayed rampantly toxic throughout the entirety of WOM and AOs development history.

Take a look at some of the earliest clan posts and you’ll see clear as day it’s IRONICALLY gotten LESS toxic over time.

The reason why it feels empty here is because there’s nothing much to talk about gamewise right now. Vetex is being a sneaky joober and hiding all of his dark sea info in his homework folder so we’ll have to wait on that.

I’d say it’s still the same as it’s always been.
If anything i’d say it’s improved since aos release.

Overall I dont really understand why you’re so pressed over “what this forum has become” as if the forums is now some deserted wasteland that has no visitors ever coming here.
I think the main problem is just that we’ve run out of things to talk about and it’s become an echochamber.

Solution? Wait for the next update.

atp i just scroll the art tab every now & then and update my cooking status, ion really give a shit abt the forums

I wasn’t a day one wom forumer but when I look back like a year ago idk how to put my finger on it but everyone felt more chill and laid back nowadays there’s always something going on and some people feel tense.

I have always wondered, what progress would wom be at right now if AO wasn’t being worked on

By this time it could probably be at that large desert area I’m forgetting the name of. I honestly think WoM was there almost, it could’ve been a really fun game if it was persued further.

I do miss 2022 forums honesty, I’m sure it was even better in the golden age of WoM and around the TGR announcement.

It’s not even about AO, I only play a couple times every other week at this point, but damn do I miss when the biggest drama was the whole reminders 2 renaming saga.
I hope people start doing more large things on the forums though, community projects like @Bio’s statues or @Crimsonpants’ ARG made the community feel alive.

Only reason I am in the forums is because vetcord is just a mess in my opinion.

I do agree, I am seeing that everything is kinda going downhill, but that is because there is nothing to do as Pox said. You will see actual discussion than whatever drama we have right now after the update.

Even then, some things change every once in a while. But some things just remains the same. And also it is the internet, of course everyone is horny.

Remember the days before that asshole DubiousTyp0 joined? yeah, good times.

I don’t, can you tell me about them?

well like those times were great and people ran around and sang in circles and played patty cake all day but then one day this asshole came and his name was sandal (dubious) and he was like “yeah aarrhghhh I’m so bad mwahahha” and he started peeing on all of the flowers and tore off the “do not tear” tags on people’s mattresses and then he also called everyone a poo head and yeah it was bad

Sounds absolutely miserable. Glad I didn’t have to put up with that, lol.
