Man. What the hell have the forums become?
We went from a tight-knit community to something full of explosive vitriol, occasional and nasty bursts of lust that just drag the place down, and just a general feeling of emptiness despite how active the forums have become after their slumber.
It’s nowhere near the same. Especially after the first month of AO’s release.
To all of you who were here - on the forums - during the days of World of Magic… Can we at least reminisce upon what we once had? What has become of our home to discuss countless things?
This is entirely how I feel about this place everytime I look on the website now. It’s nice to see the game flourish, but HOLY CRAP I MISS THE WOM DAYS SO BADLY.
I loved logging on every day here, looking at the topics, seeing the new dumb trend that was happening. It was a massive friend group pretty much. Most depressingly was the ticking time bomb that was the AO release, we knew that AO’s release was gonna shape our community into something else, and it did.
Yes I’m being a “snobby elitist OG” and I’m recalling the old days, but that’s just because the old days were better, atleast to me.
i think i went some two months without even opening the forums and bro i was much happier. i literally don’t even play ao anymore anyway (shit’s so boring and i’d appreciate not to be hunted constantly)
Yeah, times have changed a lot since the early WoM era. PvP discussions just devolve into strawman arguments within a few messages. Art category is just young teens drooling over fictional women. Off-Topic is dead. It’s truly gone to hell.
Brings me to my next point about this community
I GET ATTACKED EVERY SINGLE FUCKIN DAY I PLAY, HOLY CRAP ITS ACTUALLY TERRIBLE, EVEN AS A LOWER LEVEL GRINDING UP A FILE IM BEING ATTACKED
of course they usually cant manage to kill me because I have high agility stat of +125 on my main file but, god is it bad.
I love talking about PvP and trying to inform the less-informed, giving tips and helpful advice when I can. However, when I’m called out / argued with / find dissent pretty much anytime I type something, no matter how non-biased and purely analytical I attempt to be, why bother? There are simply much better places for discussion of that caliber.
I’ll have to consider it at this point. Some people are fun to be around, but this place has fallen off and wants to explode every 3-4 weeks now, so I am reconsidering if it’s worth it.
My dude, “I hate the horny” has become your entire personality at this point. I get it, I really do, but this isn’t exactly going to do something about it. Tbh, you kinda just sound like you’re complaining at this point.
