I don’t what happened but islands are back to being a pain in the ass to find, and range 0 islands usually have 0 dark sealeds.

no one has the resources to keep their ship alive in those conditions

getting cargo before coming (400 hp per auto-repair tick) if you’re a solo player or just having someone hammer down, on top of properly using brace (negates a shitton of damage to prevent that from even being necessary)

On top of that, they tend to get the jump on your ship while you are doing something else, which basically ends the run right then and there

I’m leaving my ship at islands

As a side note though, health gained from sinking ships is percentage based. So if you want a way to repair your ship for more without having to pay for it, you should invest in some durability

i have never had this happen

It happened to me at almost every Island i stopped at, and sometimes it was more than one ship per Island too.
