Brig NPC has god aim with thier mortals and thier cannons deals 2k or even 7k per salvo if you are unlucky with thier ammo type that they are using.

Good aim with the siege weapon is an understatement, they practically take my characters IP with how accurate they are. In all seriousness this suggestion is very welcoming after I got ganged by 2 separate brigs after a minute in the insanity 1 range, and I find them more than any other ship type combined.

While right now an atlantean brig is too much to handle, dark seas was made for stronger ships, not just by type but in equipment as well. If you are having too much trouble, stay out of ins1 range.

kind of hard to do, considering the insanity 0 range gives like, nothing anymore

I loot 20+ chests without any cargo consistenly. I fail to see the issue

Vetex should buff atlantean ketches and push brigs to the insanity 2 range. Right now ketches are free health packs while a single atlantean brig can be a run ender

I just run warship dragonfire carronades, they can 2-3 shot an atlantean brig.

What brigs are you getting, mine are literally the giggachad meme with like 20K+ health, I’m dying even with warship flame throwers.

the difference between a fodder ketch and a run ender brig is pretty funny, but yes please

Vetex should add the caravel back for the insanity 1 range

at least i will can restore some ship hp after getting hit by 99 lightnings

Can’t press G?

on a serious note why are you more worried about their cannons than the fact that their captain+deckhand can nuke you off the planet if you actually choose to fight them? on top of the current inability to damage them without LOS/close distance, it’s also fighting on the space of a brig or in water, which is even worse.

also, you can typically outrun them (if you’re in t1 you should have a ship that’s capable) though they never stop chasing it seems, which should probably be addressed if it is the case.

because one barrage from their cannons deals over 5k damage and no one has the resources to keep their ship alive in those conditions. Their mortars alone can easily make you go on a hp net loss, even if you sink them.

On top of that, they tend to get the jump on your ship while you are doing something else, which basically ends the run right then and there

Well I think I might know the issue here, you need to have more health than them

remove brigs, re-add caravels as rams are powerful, and increase ship spawnrate in the 1st range

Alternatively, make ship spawnrate more consistent. Sometimes the spawnrate is way too high and there as soon as you sink one another immediately spawns. Consistent spawnrate would provide healing and sealed chests predictably without causing too much harm.

Nah, skill issue

At this point, I’m convinced all of you guys are just trash at naval combat, no offense. The Atlantean Brigs are pretty damn easy to sink if I’m being honest. They’re really not that much more difficult compared to normal pirates in the bronze sea. Just tankier and more firepower. I’ve sunken maybe 20-30 of them Atlantean ships so far no problem. And my ship isn’t even that good. I don’t have the dark sea hull nor any warship enchants. Still, they’re not that hard.

Fighting the crew? That’s a different story, they’re really tough. Call me a coward, but I honestly don’t even bother with the crew. They’re too risky to fight, and the reward is not good enough to take that risk.

But sinking the ship itself? Fairly easy. If you’re someone who’s got a warship Brig with crazy good enchants and parts on it and yet you can’t sink an Atlantean ship in a naval fight? That’s on you, not the game. I’m personally having no difficulties whatsoever. 9 times out of 10, I gain more health back from destroying a Brig than what I lost during the fight.

So no, I disagree with removing the enemy brigs from the spawn pool. If you want to nerf them? Fine by me. But don’t remove them.

Im pretty sure over half of everyone’s issue here is having their brigs jumped by atlantean brigs while they are fighting somewhere else. From my own experience, just for being a few dozens meters away from the steering wheel in the moment they agro on me allows them to ram and maybe even sidecannon my ship. Just how am i meant to recover from that while my boat lost about 30% of it’s speed and is now being bombarded by a mortar?
