the iron leg user in question:

(doesn’t excuse limb loss but i find it funny that ILeg users aren’t as affected)
(imagine an ILeg warlord using weapons with their feet)

anyway, can anyone confirm that it’s 33% HP for a limb to have a chance to be lost? one of my friends is saying it’s 60%

I think it’s actually 35%, could be wrong.

Increase it to 60% or make it only be able to be inflicted by certain attacks (like calvus smite, some gunpowder barrel exploding, etc)

my friend blew up 4 barrels and didn’t lose a limb

I do agree with that idea, not everything should be able to blow up a limb (looking at you lightning and nonsolid magics)

Cuz he got enough defence

neither of us had more than 1.5k HP, and barrel explosions do 500 (so they were doing more than 1/3 of our HP)

friend has around 1.28k, i have 1.42k

Still, 30 seconds of being unable to attack is way too powerful by any methods usable by players. Even on NPCs, it would be a pretty severe irritation.

Reduce to 10 seconds and you can still move and dodge

Just tested it three times–you seem to be right, Kaden still has all four limbs. (lucky him)

might be worthwhile to have someone take off all of their defense equipment to see how that impacts things

You can do that…,???

I’m not entirely sure what this refers to but doing a full agility build in the Dark Sea if I’m struck by lightning I literally nearly die on the spot lol

As for the actual suggestion itself I think the system should just be reworked, despite what you say I do actually like limb loss as a mechanic (purely cause it’s funny and has cool potential for future content), but it is definitely flawed in it’s current form.

I’m gonna keep praying for Magic Arm no one can stop me

I was mainly just thinking about the chances of a limb being taken off

Actually now that I think about it there might have been a change where gunpowder barrels no longer take off limbs, lemme dig through the trello

that is technically 4 attacks in quick succession, not 1 attack

They do still. I can confirm but I’d have to dig for an image lol

ok so genuinely what are you talking about here.

if high tier healing potions repair limb loss
1: why on EARTH would I waste my incredibly rare healing reagents on that
2: why is this information NOWHERE in game and can you please prove what you’re saying instead of calling everybody stupid for not knowing something that nobody has talked about ever?
(also aren’t healing potions useless if you lose the hand you hold healing potions with, invalidating this entire mechanic that may or may not exist???)
3: EVEN THEN why is this mechanic in the game in its current state in the first place, before you can even start talking about people ignoring solutions to the mechanic you should atleast have a clear image of what it does as a gameplay function and how it benefits the game.
(Its… literally just an RNG check. Why are you defending this again?)

eeach barrel does 500, and each barrel was blown up one after the other (with regen between)

u can still use staff when u lose ur right hand but they gutted that thing lmao

  1. They aren’t rare. Like I already said, saint lily’s flowers are common in the dark sea. If your excuse is that you don’t go into the dark sea, then you also have to acknowledge that you aren’t doing the activity which has the most limb loss by far.
  2. I’m not vetex so i don’t know if the game tells you about regrowing limbs in a hint or something, or why it isn’t stated if it doesn’t. I already said the exact method with no information left out what is needed to reproduce a healing potion that regrows limbs; I’m not gonna do your due diligence for you just because you don’t wanna. I don’t actually know if healing potions wont work when your hand is missing, its something the original poster should have looked into before making the suggestion just like they should have researched high tier healing potions. If it is the case then I actually agree that isn’t very fair or reasonable.
  3. The gameplay function is pretty obvious, you should just straight up not be fighting something that can remove your limbs, or should not be in an area where the environment can cripple you so easily. The player when encountering limb loss should take it as a signal to be more prepared the next time, not something to go whine over in hopes of getting it nerfed so they don’t need to improve or adapt.
