Repair Kits should be able to be put in a pouch slot

Repair Kits should be able to be put in a pouch slot

I can’t believe I seriously need to make this suggestion…

Damaged and Ruined Armour mechanic has made its way into the game, yay… And, surprisingly, every concern the playerbase had after it was announced in the patchnotes came true, except one. Repair Kits don’t completely invalidate the mechanic - they make it worse for some people. You heard this right - if you use a repair kit on a weaker device, you can lose your entire Dark Sea run on the spot.

Sounds weird? It is. I will explain. Interacting with an item in your inventory in a way that will require reloading the inventory, can sometimes disconnect you, if your device is too weak to handle it. This isn’t the issue with Repair Kits specifically - enchanting via scrolls, socketing jewels and opening sealed chests all can trigger it too.

So, why is this a suggestion, and not a bug report? Well, the whole update consists of fighting enemies, purposely designed to inflict damage on your armour, and you are forced to pop Repair Kits constantly.

Repair Kits can be put in a pouch now. This is what this topic is requesting. Opening a pouch and using the kit from there would bypass most of the loading of your backpack. Just copy and paste what would happen when clicking on a repair kit in the inventory, or just repair a random piece of damaged gear outright without loading anything, like using Soap. Grease removal will still require opening the inventory, however.

I have made a suggestion before, where I completely erased the armour damage mechanic. I still stand on this being the better solution to this failure of a feature, but coding that is far longer, and we need a band-aid fix rn. Putting Repair Kits in a pouch will do for now.

Vetex never fails to disappoint his playerbase with another useless immersion mechanic.

“You can’t judge it until you experience it” doesn’t really work out when a hundred similar features were added before this and it turned out most if not all concerns about them came true.

Having a feature that has a chance to crash your game In the middle of combat is stupid

No, not in the middle - after it. Even the best perfomance pc users aren’t gonna repair in combat - too risky, and I am not asking for that to be possible

Urgh, I’ve been trying to do that- I would prefer It’s just something you micromanage as soon as it pops up, like soap and water poisoning. It’s annoying but better than losing like, all of the use of your armour halfway through a fight.

Genuinely the biggest issue is that the inventory has to load all of its items every time something changes within it, armor repair kits just invoke said issue.

I can’t see why this shouldn’t be added, especially when it’s so important when fighting the latest big-bad; dragons.

No, Armour Damage isn’t inherently life-threatening immediately like Water Poisoning is.

Explaining differently, compare TF2’s Wrap Assassin to Fan O’War. One does dot damage that can quickly kill if you’re low on hp, but can be cleared fast. The other just marks you for a possibility of death, but you can’t clear it, and it lasts far longer

if you are lucky enough and the dragon is stupid enough to fall down to the lower area, (or maybe you can hide in the hole you entered from, haven’t tried that yet)

you might be able to repair

but it is still annoying that i need to open my entire inventory instead of just the pouch for a quick grab

I would personally just remove the damn feature entirely but I’m all for making it more bearable

Same here, I only made this as a band-aid fix. Read my Team Immersion’s suggestion for a more detailed explanation on how to remove the mechanic entirely, the link’s pinned above

yes pls

I saw the damaged armor status effect, remembered “right, I bought 100 repair kits earlier for this exact issue” went into my pouch, searched ‘repair kit’ to hotkey it… and nothing.
vetex brother cmon seriously?
