Resistance FOCUS Nerf

Resistance FOCUS Nerf

Low effort and quick suggestion. This probably shouldn’t apply to mages, but the idea is pretty “in general”.

Please scroll until you see “The Main Thing” in bold letters if you don’t want to read the rant.

“Focus!”

I’m sure many of you have heard that phrase and found yourself shaking and crying with dread. Perhaps you even used your muscle memory to press ESC+L+ENTER as soon as you can to prevent yourself from facing the 2,700 HP 285 DPS warlock that was about to smash you into a nearby wall.

Let’s be honest here. The resistance mode focus is unfairly overpowered, and it’s almost impossible to actually combat it if you don’t use the focus yourself.

Before you go and give me 10,001 reasons why resistance focus is balanced, take a look at this:

Berserker: Iron Leg+Boxing

Can get 2,000-2,500 HP while still maintaining 200+ damage(with a SMASH attack) not including DOT.
Video evidence:

With boxing, iron leg mains can easily gain/close distance or use the height to increase the AOE of their SMASH attack. Also, boxing has a 33% damage debuff against all attacks when blocking. That means Iron Leg Boxing players can use a mini shield while also having an ungodly amount of HP and keeping a decent amount of power.

Not only that, focus seems to not have a universal cooldown(?), so they can just use one focus after the other and keep a constant 2000 HP. I can probably find video proof of this if you ask, but I would love to be proven wrong. That means it’s been patched.

Warlock: Iron Leg and Thermo Fist(separate)

This shouldn’t need an explanation, but here we go.

The other day, MrNormalBox and I went on a bounty hunt. We targeted a player named Bizzarrion. When we found them at Munera Garden with another player, we attacked them only to find that this player was sporting 2,000 HP and dealing 200-300 DMG per attack.

Explosion Iron leg.

The problems with berserker are almost identical to the problems with Warlock. Soon, Warlords will gain this power. Do you REALLY want to see a Warlord with 2,000 HP dealing 200 damage per attack? Do you really?

Explosion Thermo Fist doesn’t need a ton of HP, but can still sport 1,700 or 1,500 HP while still maintaining 285 damage per hit. Even lower, you can see them casually dealing 350-400 per hit.

Intensity

Intensity could be the main problem, but I don’t want to resort to/admit that. I feel like intensity is good as it is, but I can’t find any reasons as to why it shouldn’t be nerfed…

:skull:

The Main Thing

To put it simply, Resistance should function like how putting points in Vitality does. I don’t know how it would SCALE exactly, but by using a Resistance focus you should also sacrifice a decent bit of your damage along with it.

Using intensity with a resistance focus would still give you more HP with resistance, but it also acts as a double edged sword and decreasing your DMG output even more.

I believe this would/should even out how classes that don’t benefit from extremely good modes can hardly compete with classes that can.

Also, this CAN apply to mages mode too, but I feel like mages aren’t a big enough problem for their resistance focus to get gutted. At the same time, isn’t it only fair for both modes to receive a nerf…?

Low effort my ass. I didn’t expect to put this much time into what was supposed to be a quick suggestion.

Yeah… anyway. Agree or disagree, tell me your points in the replies.
