Right now, the bounty system in Arcane Odyssey looks like this: you go to a bounty board, grab a paper, follow the paper’s instructions (and pray that nobody randomly beat you to it), kill the bounty, and get your reward.
This system encourages a gameplay loop where the player chooses who to hunt and has to deliberately search for them in a vague area. This could cause problems, as especially if the bounty is on a boat, players have to search the entire sea and hope that they find their bounty, which may take an unnecessarily long amount of time for the miniscule reward that the players receive.
I propose some changes to this frustrating system: along with getting a bounty paper and searching for the bounty, you can now encounter the enemy like any normal player would without hunting them and then turn them in to the bounty board once you’re done. This way, fighting criminals becomes less of a chore and more of an event. The bounty board itself would look about the same (where theres the bounties and you can click one to see the details), but now with an extra button in the description named “redeem” which would give players their normal bounty bonus if they had already killed the enemy. This way, encounters with bounties in the wild can be redeemed even when unexpected, and aside from that, players can also use bounties the way they normally would before this change. In addition, the bounty that you’re looking for will now appear on the map, signified by an image/viewport frame of their face. The position of this marker updates once per in-game day and will be erased if the bounty is defeated. This gives players a general location of their bounty if it moves, and follows the same vague position description that is seen in today’s bounty boards.
TLDR:
add a “redeem” button to bounty boards to get bounty rewards even if you didn’t have their bounty paper at the defeat time and add a position marker for bounties you have a paper for that updates locations once an in-game day.
