maybe ya know, completely rework things and add stat points so nearly anything is viable
different enchantments just amplify your current stats
lol

It does need ironing out as you said, but the core idea is marvelous. Build variety heaven, here we come.
heh yeah that’s true
you can use speed on gold or size on light, and you could make some laughable build out of it or use it on the side as a crutch
come to think of it, why is this a magic only stat? this could work perfectly by making weapon’s bless dot be amplified
ngl, i dunno why they wont add stat points into the game

Cuz vet doesn’t want them, in AA they made the game FAR less diverse, and more stats would not fix that problem
wat about shadow which does litterally nothing
you become color blind-er.
More seriously, it’d probably just make the colorblind effect last longer or make it have less contrast so that its harder to see.
oh i just remembered it stops regen right?
or am i thinking things
Could have the effect longer, but like I’ve said a lot if your magic has no extra effects (or none that matter) then the effect is essentially non-existent, much like trying to use a pure magic speed build kn gold.
This could also increase the time it takes to clear the effect via charging and/or reduce the cooldown on being able to re-apply a status effect after getting cleared (currently being 3s).
Love the idea, have my vote.
less diverse how?
indulge me for a moment so i may see it in a new light lol
you have my vote
genius idea and sounds nice
In AA everyone (with very rare exceptions) put every point into magic power because it was the only useful option (Why have lots of HP if you hit for the same damage a level 50 could?) and it was the only way to get higher tiers in your magics. There was no reason to level anything except that unless you were going for a very specific anti-meta build, in which case you would be power levelling strength or defense. There aren’t enough useful stats to promote a build diversity like stat points in Dark Souls, where nearly every stat has a use in some way, everyone would level just one or two stats.
it’s probably cuz of the way they’re built. since we cant exactly dodge or do much with agility. the only thing we can do is do things with power and defense…
you could revamp the way the stats work but…eh i don’t have any ideas as of this moment
Forget everything I said before. This suggestion is perfect now. I never really liked how tapping shift cleared an effect to begin with.
Though I do feel like it’s probably going to be the most complex stat of all, due to simply how many things it does… Hopefully that wont pose an issue.
What about lightning? Would Paralyze be easier to apply?
I’m not sure that it really needs to do anything for those magics. Yes, that would make it a useless stat on those magics, but the point of the stat would be to make playstyles around gimics viable, as they aren’t anywhere near viable with the current state of the game. They’re more of an “oh AND you can do ____”. the main thing that makes magics good right now is damage and speed (size instead of speed below .9x speed), and if they have a DOT that can counter healing. anything that doesn’t have something decent in those stats isn’t really great, at least in the current state of the game.
I’ve answered things like that a few times, but magics like lightning would either
A. Get nothing
B. Have their secondary effect that’s based on % damage buffed or made easier (other examples would be like Earth’s ability to cause bleed with strong attacks)
C. Have stronger boosts from combos (or just worse magic power LOL)
Any of these could work, but I personally lean towards A or B
