Rival's customization

Rival's customization
effort 2.75 8 quality 2.375 8 reasonability 1.555555555555556 9

Ability to completely customise a rival
The selectable parameters would be:

  • name
  • avatar (hair (style and colour), height (when customizable), skin tone)
  • animation (pending if limited to only the players unlocked or not)
  • style + color
  • “build” (selection of number and type of used magics, fighting styles and weapons types)

Way to implement
Basically identical to the already active magic change:

  • a paid pass
  • a rare event in the Dark sea far reaches, where interacting with a god or similar entity spirit would trigger the option

(The reason for the limited accessibility to this feature is that it’s a very unnecessary one to the completion and/or full experience of the game, since it would only be of use to perfectionists or roleplayers.)
(This feature is not to be intended as an alternative to the possibility to reset a rival, but to basically min-max/optimise one.
This would be used only to create combinations which would be, realistically speaking, basically impossible to obtain at random.
It’s supposed to be the final resort for someone to modify someone’s rival, without having to grind hundreds and thousands of random files.)

mabye i can finally get rid of my rival that does PEIRCING GALE and 600-700 dmg per hit, And thats just in the bronze sea, when i go nimbus its legit 800-1000 dmg per hit, i always lose a limb

I really don’t like this, and doubt that that’s something Vetex would want to add :/. I understand the concern honestly, but I’m just not sure how we could address it

sadly your right

Honestly, I don’t think this should be done. It just wouldn’t make any sense at all gameplay-wise.
I still think that the age old suggestion of having a way to get rid of your current rival is a better option.

The idea removes the from the whole premise of, “oh yep that’s him” plus you get to brag about having some rival named Jimbelmeir the second who uses pheonix magic 2 electric boogaloo. And you seriously think people are gonna go through hecate essence the sequel for something that means literally nothing. Like why would some deity or God in the dark sea just go “oh yeah let me change his complete genetic sequence because Aime Black said so” In all seriousness considering the hellscape of Hecate there’s no way in hell anybody is doing that. If it’s a gamepass then maybe just because it seems quick and doable and might get atleast 1 sale.

Yeah, that reminds me
It shouldn’t let you change their build for money, that’s kinda P2W

That’s a fair statement, but most people just forget about treasure charts and it’s just rng from there, considering you’re paying robux for that it’s more a waste. Edit: Considering the only people to buy this are low attention span kiddies who aren’t good at the game I doubt they’d have the capcity to do a legendary treasure chart or exotic etc. The robux made off their suffering is worth it :moai:

Sorry, this aint it chief. Rivals are supposed to be unique.

i don’t see that happening and i don’t really want this either. i’d rather have a way to reset my rival and find a different one, which i think might happen eventually?

wtf? do you have a monstrous atlantean as a rival?

you should be able to get your rival executed through some series of events idk

Honestly, I don’t think this is happening. However, I do want to have a way to permanently get rid of my rival.

My rival is Benton, he is a Light-Glass mage at level 260 iirc. He deals 70 damage per hit. But despite his pathetic damage, he is so unbelievably tanky that it takes me 3-5 minutes worth of just attacking just to beat him. Pretty unpleasant to fight.

vetex is not adding this for obvious reasons

Nah our rivals should also be able to customize us then

every AO file is personalised

this is much more practical

it gets wore he has 5372 hp

i understand why you suggest this but everyone will just make their rival a woman

My rival watching me make her (I think she’s canonically female actually) into an oracle (she can now just furiously t-jump at me):
