How does it happen that there are so many RNG based games (which usually suck with some exceptions) yet thousands of players play theese? Are theese types of games simply addictive or is it because people got nothing else to do so they spent their time on virtual gambling for kids?
Im making this topic while playing a untitled drill game (RNG one basiclly) myself
90% of gamblers give up before they win big
or at least that’s been said before(or has it? I don’t know but it relates to this)
people will just do it because they can
Because the Roblox algorithm prefers to promote whichever games can make the most money off the players and keep them in-game the longest, not necessarily which ones are actually good.
RNG games are practically minmaxxed at this. They encourage people to AFK grind for ludicrously rare drops, which skyrockets the engagement metrics. It also causes them to make a truckload of cash off of the premium payouts, again earning them more favor with the grand Roblox algorithm.
Children are easily impressionable, this makes the like of consuming their time to gamble for a cosmetic that is only available in a singular Roblox “game” more appealing to them as:
Their sense of value has yet to be developed, making them easily preyed upon due to this cluelessness.
They are not aware that their time is limited, making them more prone to wasting it.
They usually wish to ‘stand out’ and ‘be cool’ for reasons that I do not understand myself, making RNG “games” the perfect place for them to feel that way as they are actively told their “chance”.
They more easily develop addictions as their brain is still growing, turning them into the perfect target for manipulative schemes.
Basically, they’re passive (effortless) dopamine farms akin to the likes of “modern” social medias like Tik Tok; They cripple your brain’s thinking and reward it with dopamine for doing so, further encouraging this behaviour while removing their ability to stop through careful reflection, effectively turning them into zombies.
Okay, you actually have a good point there, children are pretty impressionable as you said, so it’s pretty important to give them a good upbringing from the start so they don’t end up like the majority of Gen Alpha
