Sameria - Abyss Sea AU

My interpretation of Sameria in the Abyss Sea AU.

Island: Sameria
Status: Uninhabitable.

Faction: Sameria Province
Status: Destroyed.

The Sameria Province had a greater advantage against the Atlantean threat when it came to land-based combat. The civilian population was quickly moved away from the coasts of the province and deeper into the desert with various rudimentary tents, while a hasty fortification was built atop Mount Enkav to stage a defense against the Atlantean Threat.

At the time they did not know of the danger the Atlantean infection posed to Curse Users, a critical piece of information lacking which spelled the end of Sameria and the kingdom as a whole in one fell swoop. The Atlanteans had breached what defenses they had, the other generals including the holder of the Storm Curse, General Akeem, busy attempting to repel the overwhelming amount of Atlantean forces, leaving only Empress Nilah and the remaining Sameria Military protecting the refugee camp to repel the land invasion.

The defensive battle only lasted five minutes. It was neither a victory for the Atlanteans, nor a victory for Sameria. It was pure, tormentous devastation. As the Empress was in the midst of casting burning rays from the sun, to break through the darkness and bring back the light of hope with the smoldering ashes of the infected, she was caught off guard and infected by an Atlantean who had snuck past their defenses.

The mutation began instantly, more rapid than any other Atlantean Infection. The Empress’s spell went through, but it had drastically and rapidly expanded, growing as hot as the very sun itself. Sand became glass, Rock melted into magma, the flesh burned and melted under the intense heat, both uninfected and infected. In only a short span of time Sameria grew as hot as the mantle of the earth, making it impossible for any normal living creature to exist, burning a permanent hole through the Dark Sea’s clouds. Not as a sign of hope, but a light of a harsher, hotter fate.

There are currently no known survivors, and it is still unknown what has become of Empress Nilah, if she is still alive or deceased with the rest of her kingdom. The whereabouts of the Storm Curse user, General Akeem are also unknown at this time, however the intense thunderstorms around the melted Sameria leave little hope for his well-being. In the present day, Sameria is a shell of its former glory, now only offering a way out of the nightmare than refuge or resources through basking under the sun’s merciless rays.
