School is very confusing and vague

So there have been MANY instances where I put my all into an assignment and end up getting a mid grade that everyone else got more than effortlessly. Now ive got another thing to turn in and I think the exact same thing gonna happen.

I do not have an a+ in any class meaning its only gonna decrease if I go into later grade or topics. Hell I once made sure everything on the rubric was checked and I still be losing points like what?
Luckily, my teacher is pretty generous with grades sometimes
Legit have no idea how to stop this from happening

i even got an extremely easy test thinking id get it all but still low grade

as for math stuff. me being stupid got a 92 on a test worth a huge chunk of my grade because i forgot to FINISH answering some questions and mistakened the letters ad for ac. Now that I got an 82% on a smaller grade assessment, my grade gonna be like 89% after calculation which is infuriatiing

you made it sound like you were getting 72%'s or something, an 89% isn’t bad

bad for my parents tho

depends on the school system or where you live
I personally don’t really know how good people see a-f grading so I’m not gonna get into that but if you ever feel like a test or assignment is underwhelming, try to think about the following:

  • what does the teacher want to see that I understand based on this question
  • does my answer have everything that they would want to hear

also about this
like sock said, it isn’t bad at all but that’s probably exactly what you wanted to hear while writing this post
stop attention seeking and maybe go read a book instead of complaining about your grades on the forums

A bit harsh, but you have a point.

From me: Just keep doing what you are doing I guess. (Follow Gohar Khan on Youtube, he’s pretty good)

this was about the most formal place i could post it at this time. since they block reddit in my school for some reason i just use this for now cause another assingment is coming up later. maybe when i get home ill post this somewhere more relevant

listen to pierce the veil and youll automatically become smart

Mans just farming hearts up this point

One: an 89% is far from bad my guy. It’s literally just one point from an A. Heck, if you make like 0.5% more, your teachers may just round up your grade to an A.

Two: some people don’t have to put in as much effort. Hard work does beat talent, yes, but that only happens when talent refuses to put in the effort. If you’re comparing yourself to someone who’s both talented and almost as hard of a worker as you are, then you just straight up won’t exceed them.

will do
sounds like an emo band

keep on pushing ig
my math grade wasnt that great (88.95) but i saved it by getting 92% on both the chapter 4 test and the final which led me to getting an a at 90.11%

most of my grades that arent high as are always flitting around 90% but all i did was continue studying (jk i dont study :heheha) but put more of a mindset into getting a good grade

one suggestion that helped me a bit was to not let your guard down, even if a test seems easy or even is easy make sure u go through each question individually and check your answers
i know it sounds like teacher yap but by staring at each question and each step i made for like a minute i caught a bunch of smaller errors

A student right next to me felt sad because their math grade decreased from 100.7 to 99.1 (he usually gets over a 100 in every single subject)

at this point bro is focusing more on grades than learning lol

how the fuck does that grading system work

how much - how much is it
because I was convinced it was 0-100 at first

if you putting in your all got you a worse grade, you might have misinterpreted the assignment

I don’t wanna make assumptions but since you say that you’re following the grade rubric maybe you should bring this up with your parents and teachers? Unless maybe you just did something wrong that you didn’t notice, when I was in high school our teachers would mark places where we made mistakes so I’m sure if you ask then your teacher could do the same and tell you what you’re doing wrong. After that make sure you keep rereading the rubric and make sure to pay attention in class harder than you usually do (and ask the teacher for help like I said before).

somehow, i can relate
