Schrödinger’s cat is, infact, a thought experiment that demonstrates the idea in quantum physics that something can be in 2 states at once. It also was created to show the problems Schrodinger saw with the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics.
In other words, it’s a simplified explanation of an concept in the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics that Schrodinger used to explain what he saw was the problem with it.
Fun fact, Schrödinger was also a botanist, Schrödingers cat was an experiment to show the absurdity of quantum mechanics, and is now a fundamental thought experiment in explaining it

Schroedinger’s quantum physics - since we dont actually know the exact positions of electrons according to schroedinger, everything in the universe is a chaotic system, and thus all our measurements and calculations are completely wrong, and reality could collapse in an instant
Schroedingers statement - you dont know if the statement is true or not until you verify, and even if you know you dont know if our current knowledge is even correct - think of the farmer analogy: a turkey observes that they are fed each morning at (say) 7am without pause for 364 days.
