Consumable scrolls is a bad mechanic because its forced scarcity and punishes changing your build and market prices yada yada… There’s so many of these now, and there will be more in the future. Its so hard to get the 1 ability you want. So here goes the suggestion.
New menu (like book of athena) called “MASTERED ABILITIES” or something.
Lists all the scrolls you’ve “learned” so far
Lists the ones you havent obtained yet
Gives you a title for attaining all of them “Master wizard/martial artist”
They stay with you permanently even if you delete them
Can “learn” any scroll but can only use it if you have the stats for it
Reason to add:
Parity with weapon skills / rites
Makes people who want to 100% the game another thing to do
Easiest slam dunk positive change you could make to the game I shouldnt even have to explain why
also they are dumb, like hey i’ve already learned this spell, and am actively using it, why can’t i copy the spell i already know to make different versions of it like all the base abilities
and of course the weapons/spirit with their large move selection that they can always have
why am i just forgetting stuff, and eating the scrolls
This is how the system should’ve been designed in the first place, but noooo!! Vetex has to artificially inflate playtime and replayability through arbitrary and crappy design choices in order to make his games “”“good”“”.
