Sea "monsters"

i feel like there should be more monster-like enemies or sea creatures, different shaped or colored sharks are boring and are getting kinda old atp.

Vetex is planning on adding more varied sea monsters, here’s the trello link to the card. they probably won’t be added for a long while though

a list of them if you don't want to go to the trello

Planned Sea Monsters

Sentinel - (Aberrant). A short but fat red colored jellyfish that slowly swims towards the player in an attempt to paralyze them. If stung the Jellyfish then begins flashing red and emitting a odd pulsing sound that attracts nearby sharks and sea monsters to the player’s location until the jellyfish is killed or the player swims out of range.
Mageel - (Aberrant) A species of large carnivorous eel capable of using magic. In regular seas they are pretty rare and about as wide as poison jaws, but will attack their prey relentlessly, even after it has left the water, by firing small blasts of magic. They are capable of using acid, water, light, or shadow magic, but it is unique to each mageel. Their scale colors would match their magic color.
Flamescale - (Behemoth) An enormous eel woth bright orange scales that emits intense heat, boiling the ocean around it. It can be spotted far away by the thick cloud of steam it leaves on the ocean surface. The boiling causes intense rough waves and tsunamis. Flamescale is a rare species similar to white eyes, thought to be a rare form of Mageel, however it does not use magic itself. Swimming near a Flamescale causes you to take damage over time, and sailing too far into its steam can also set your ship on fire from the intense heat. (Possibly could be combined with archturtle to make both more interesting)
Ironclad - (Behemoth) A large whale that was deeply irradiated in metal magic, turning its blubber into scales of metal. Will attempt to ram its head into ships and players.
Archturtle - (Behemoth) An enormous rare species of turtle hunted for its meat. It does not attack, but its drops could sell for a lot.
Scaldclaw - (Behemoth) An exceptionally large crab with molten lava scales that burn even underwater emitting a large stream of bubbles which disrupts anyone swimming above or around it. This creature usually roams the bottom of the sea near shipwrecks, edges of islands, and in caves.
Kraken - (Behemoth) An enormous red squid that is slightly rarer than white eyes. It will attack any sized ship it sees, and latch onto it and crush it, dealing damage over time. Krakens do not stop attacking a ship until it sinks, or is killed. When underwater, it blinds its prey using ink, and then eats it. Krakens will not attack underwater prey unless it gets fairly close, as it prefers to feast on ships instead.

Dark Sea Only

Kahunawa - (Abyssal) An ancient and wartorn alpha white eyes that has lived for an untold amount of time with legends dating back hundreds of years. With time it has grown slightly larger than its young counterpart but has left its eyes tinged a deep red and its scales black and scarred with weapons of every era lodged in its body, a show of its many years of life.
Hagifa - (Abyssal) An enormous black whale whose blubber is said to shine like gold. It would fire colossal geysers of water above it, capable of causing tsunamis and rough seas, as well as ripping ships apart if hit directly.

Not technically a sea monster but we are getting dragons

hold up golden blubber…
T2 gel?

dark sea part two, 2077 :frcryin:

hopefully if vetex has time, he can add some of the war seas ones in full release
:sob:

hopefully he can add war to the war seas :pensive:

war seas: have war in the name
vetex: im gonna make a part about preventing war for a whole sixth of the story!
war seas: huh

Probably not even by beating the ever-loving shit out of Wotan, seeing how it’s going, the player will go to Jotunheim, everyone is captured and Wotan gets ready to kill them, the player dramatically yells “STOP IT, WOTAN, THIS ISN’T YOU!” and they all walk together into the sunset.

Don’t you forget, after the Nimbus Sea, we’ll have to deal with the war in the Vimir side of things, and THEN there’s at least one more sea worth of war-prevention at Marauding, or at least war-avoiding.

Or maybe vetex can intertwine both Aesir and the War plot lines, remember how he said MAINLY war?
