Haste is one of the most forgettable sub-stats in the game because all it does is reduce your cooldowns, but after reading a post and thinking back to intensity’s old usages, i think ive come up with a good second application to haste

Haste should now make DoTs tick faster, so like with fire instead of doing 6% every second for 5 seconds, having haste will reduce the 6% every second to something like 6% every half second (probably at the upper limit like 300+). This would not only make since thematically since haste is associated with time, but it also makes sense in the context of the stat itself. I’ve not yet decided if it’d be better if the duration remained the same so if you did have it tick every half second you’d basically be doubling your DoT’s damage (feels a bit too overtuned but ill see what people think), or if the duration scaled down as well and it would just be a way to get more chip in with your DoTs letting you apply them more frequently.

As for non-damaging status effects (since a lot of haste arcmancers are non-damaging ones like crystal, water, and sand), I think it could just increase their duration so that its easier to apply synergies or just more crystal stacks in the context of crystal.

i feel like making DoTs tick faster or applying more stacks of a debuff should be a completely new gear or jewel stat imo, and we already have the status effect durations jewel stat

lost knowledge and certain moves could have brought haste more relevancy, but lost knowledge is pretty niche/meh and stuff like conjure elementals would’ve been great if the scaling wasn’t so bad.

in the future as we get more moves with long cooldowns (especially supportive ones) i feel like haste’s value will increase and it will find its niche. my 874 haste build awaits that day

u know after 150 haste u get like -1% less cooldown each 100 points right, even with 1000 haste u dont reach 70% cooldown reduction

but mehhh whattevever funny lost spell spam

I knew it had diminishing returns but wow I actually didn’t know that :sob::sob:

but yay now i basically wont need to worry about energy with the planned haste buffs!!

reminds me of what haste was before it got reworked, and honestly I think this could be a nice bonus for investing into it! specially for something like poison

Honestly, I like Bteams energy reduction for Haste… other than that; it just needs a slight stat scaling rework. No reason why I should be capable of dropping 100 haste and having about the same cooldown. I feel like haste is one of the stat that’ll get better once we have more useful rare-moves, which would ideally have longer cooldowns, and slightly higher energy costs.

I do think Intensity needs to come back as a stat… I miss it. Most of the other jewels aren’t that important for combat[1], which makes Status duration feel really out of place.

  1. The only exception to this is one that, coincidentally, was also something that was found on a stat (albeit unintentionally), Resistance and Block-power. ↩︎

true i completely forgot about that jewel stat, would actually be really cool to pair up with this suggestion, imagine a poison mage with high haste and status effection durations so youre taking 4% of the moves damage every half second for like 40 seconds :sob:

i dont know what else to do for non damaging statuses because as i mentioned, a lot of the arcmancers that do have haste tied to them are non damaging like water, crystal, and sand.

maybe the status effect duration gem gets revamped into status effect potency? or it gets removed/replaced and potency gets applied status effects tied into its effect so its not just for luck builds but rather builds tied to status effects as a whole?

sure lol

this would be really funny on poison
