So, sensing is finally in the game and… its overwhelming. You may be trying to find a nearby enemy or hunt for sea monsters, but there’s just too many things being sensed for you to tell which one it is. And when looking for something on an island, you may get confused and think a glow from 2 islands away is the thing you’re looking for. Because of this issue I’ve been facing, I have the following addition/change:

Focused Sensing

*You will be able to change the things you’re sensing for with a settings menu.

Imagine this: You go into sensing mode, and the crystal ball in the middle has an eye symbol appear in the middle, and the small orbs in the background start spinning faster.

If you click on the orb while its doing this(you’re in sensing mode), a menu is brought up that has a bunch of different settings to edit how your sensing works. Here are some possible settings that could be added, but keep in mind the settings could be different based on your stats just like the general sensing type

  1. Distance: A drop down menu with the settings close, nearby, distant, full, and custom. Custom allows you to set a specific distance in studs with a slider that appears under the option once selected

  2. Enemy types: it would be a series of check boxes with different entities you can sense next to each box. You check the entities you wanna sense, and uncheck the entities you want to ignore. Changes based on what sensing you’re using.
EX: I want to sense sea monsters but not enemies or anything else

Setting Saving:

Changing these settings may get annoying if you have to redo it every time you sense or you want to do it once and then have it normal afterwards, so here’s a solution:

To the left of every setting you can change is a lock icon. The lock will have three states that the player can change by clicking on it.

  1. Red: Setting saves forever
  2. Yellow: Setting saves until player leaves the server
  3. Green: setting is active for 5 minutes(can be changed)
  4. White(unlocked icon): this is the default

In the default settings menu(not sensing) you can change how long the green icon lasts.

That’s basically it, however I could see the settings part being changed to be simpler.
