Sensing showcase opinion poll

poll about this, do you think sensing types should be build exclusive?

  • yes, we should we able to use all sensing types regardless of build
  • no, it should be build exclusive

I like the idea of it being build exclusive, they just need to make challenge and especially hunting sense a little more useful

i think the spirit sense deserves a rework, you can literally see every diving spot on the map once you complete all of them in one server which can take 2-4 hours depending on how fast you do it.

and in my opinion… diving spots are lowkey useless

Yall missing it, sensing types don’t compliment the builds at all, they have no relation other than unlock. The types and builds have no reason to be mutually exclusive.

It doesn’t have to be free, if it just had each of them have different unlock methods.

Yeah they only really seem geared towards PvP unless you go pure strength/weapons

yes, this just make each sensing ability universal but you gotta unlock the abilities

I mean hybrids get to choose from 2 sensing types so its seems fair they would have lower tier of both types compared to pure builds

Tiers past 2 only matter for pures as the first 2 tiers are unlocked at specific level milestones

Best scenario: We remove sensing so I can sneak on people’s brigs until Vetex finishes nerfing thermofist (Never)

it doesnt even matter since you ususally kill people anyway

i like it when different builds get unique stuff
it makes them actually feel different and not same-y

It’s the stealth fantasy

Wait I’m kinda confused about that, is there somewhere sensing is explained more?

It was in one of the patch notes

I think it’d be more interesting if you could unlock full levels of sensing similar to the way you level up cooking, brewing and jewelcrafting, instead of being locked to one by your build.
For weapons sensing, you’d have to gather renown. Not have a set amount of it, as in being forced to have 500k renown to use the full level, but just gather that amount (probably less tbh) during gameplay on that file.
Strength sensing would simply be defeating NPCs, and probably players, the latter would give more progress though.
Magic could simply be doing Dark sea-related activities, exploring structures and stuff.
Spirit would probably be diving and stuff, since spirit sensing is literally just diver title with extra features.
I think it’s good that games have some versatility in these matters, because if little Timmy thought swords are cool, and discovered too late that his parallel to Jimmy’s ability to sense ancient ruins and landmasses is to sense which person has higher worthless number, I think he’d be pretty disappointed.
Then again, I’m just a hating doomposter whose opinions don’t matter, do they?

Cut out this part and it’s pure wisdom out here

i dont think renown should be used as a level stat

I don’t think a useless, cosmetic number should be the parallel of sensing ancient ruins and shipwrecks or know when a powerful enemy appears, but here we are
If weapons sensing had any other perk that would be similar to dark sea exploration, or diving, or defeating enemies, trust me that I’d use it

i think it sucks that some are just objectively better than others (cough cough magic cough cough)
but at the same time being build exclusive makes it feel more special

imo we should make each sensing style more equal in usefulness but i wouldn’t mind making them all available regardless of build either

One thing that bothers me about sensing is the fact that Hybrids are just explicitly worse at sensing that savants because they don’t get access to tier 3 sensing they are stuck with tier 2 just like savants but they have more options I think hybrids should either get tier 3 in both or tier 3 in one of their choice
