Seven elements=seven deadly sins

So since it said in lore that magic energy is drawn to negative and evil thoughts I though it would be interesting to ask chat gpt to correlate the 7 original elements with the 7 deadly sins and its made like a head cannon you could say that your first magi is based on how closely you relate to a seven deadly sin

Here’s a clear correlation of the seven elements with the seven deadly sins, based on symbolic traits:

:fire: Fire → Wrath

  • Fire consumes, destroys, and rages uncontrollably.

  • Wrath mirrors this destructive, burning nature.

:ocean: Water → Envy

  • Water reflects but also distorts; envy is about comparison and longing.

  • Its restless, shifting nature matches envy’s dissatisfaction.

 Wind → Pride

  • Wind rises high, unseen but pervasive, lifting itself above.

  • Pride is lofty, inflated, and often invisible until it shows.

:high_voltage: Lightning → Lust

  • Lightning is sudden, irresistible, and overwhelming.

  • Lust strikes with passion and leaves lasting marks.

:globe_showing_europe_africa: Earth → Gluttony

  • Earth provides harvest, food, and abundance.

  • Gluttony is indulgence in earthly bounty without restraint.

:new_moon: Shadow → Sloth

  • Shadow hides from effort, remaining still in darkness.

  • Sloth avoids movement, growth, or striving toward light.

:sun: Light → Greed

  • Light reveals and attracts, yet greed hoards and never shares.

  • Always wanting “more,” greed tries to seize all illumination for itself.

When it comes to lesser lost magic being your first magic it would probably be based on what magics that lesser lost magic originally mutated from and the possessor having like a dual relation to a seven deadly sin so Magma would be a dual relation of wrath and gluttony or plasma would be a dual relation of wrath and lust

i could see this being true, iris is very wrathful so her having flare magic fits

So the Middle is made up of water users

funny enough Calvus uses Aether which is a light mutation and Calvus can be seen as the greedy king character archetypes

a lot of these can be swapped around, when i put the same prompt through got i got this
:fire: Fire → Wrath

Fire embodies rage, destruction, and uncontrolled anger. Wrath is its clearest parallel — violent outbursts and burning fury literally fuel fire magic.

:high_voltage: Lightning → Envy
Lightning is fast, unpredictable, and always chasing what it cannot hold — like envy itself. It strikes suddenly, a reflection of jealousy and restlessness.

:full_moon: Light → Pride
Light is radiant, commanding, and attention-drawing. Pride aligns with Light since it represents self-importance, ego, and the desire to shine above all others.

 Wind → Sloth
Wind is ever-present, intangible, and lazy in its flow — moving only when pushed. Sloth reflects the passive, drifting nature of air, which resists effort and substance.

:mountain: Earth → Greed
Earth is solid, material, and hoarding. Greed connects to Earth through possession, control, and the hunger for more — whether wealth, territory, or resources.

:new_moon: Shadow → Lust
Shadow is alluring, mysterious, and tempting, hiding what lies beneath. Lust ties to it as the desire that thrives in secrecy and darkness, feeding on hidden impulses.

:ocean: Water → Gluttony
Water consumes, fills, and overflows. Like gluttony, it has no end — it adapts, floods, and drowns when unchecked, reflecting insatiable appetite.

interesting results

i agree with fire being wrath, id say wind is probably more of a lust but sloth fits ig

light being pride makes sense and id say that as the contrary shadow would be envy

fair wind is the magic one would want if they want to be lazy and move objects around with their mind so sloth does work for it

Just realised that if lighting correlates to lust then Silas and Ellius are cannonicaly sl@@@

fire - wrath
light - pride
shadow - envy
wind - sloth
earth - gluttony
water - lust
lightning - greed

thats probably how i’d correlate them but yeah its difficult to pick which would go where

ill specify what the magics do because gpt could think that earth magic would be plants and such when its really just rocks lol

gpt asked if i would like for it to map it to the 7 heavenly virtues as well so i said sure and this is what i got (just thought it’d be cool)
:fire: Fire → Wrath → Patience

When uncontrolled, fire is wrath. When mastered, it becomes patience — the steady hearth fire that endures and sustains rather than destroys.

:high_voltage: Lightning → Envy → Kindness
Envy covets what others have, but lightning as kindness can share its spark. Instead of jealousy, it becomes the gift of energy, inspiration, and vitality.

:full_moon: Light → Pride → Humility
Light naturally seeks to shine, but humility means shining for others, guiding them through darkness rather than demanding worship.

 Wind → Sloth → Diligence
Wind drifts lazily when left alone, but diligence makes it movement with purpose — the winds that carry ships, spread seeds, and push travelers forward.

:mountain: Earth → Greed → Charity
Greed hoards the material, but earth as charity represents generosity: fertile soil giving crops, stone giving shelter, mountains offering protection.

:new_moon: Shadow → Lust → Chastity
Shadow can conceal lust, but chastity turns it into mystery with purity — the protective night, the calm veil, comfort in stillness rather than indulgence.

:ocean: Water → Gluttony → Temperance
Water in excess drowns, but tempered water gives life, refreshes, and cleanses. Temperance is the balance of flow, never too much nor too little.

We can all agree that fire is wrath

Earth has gems and shit so I say greed

Light ig could be pride

That makes shadow envy

Water as sloth because big and heavy?

Lightning seems greedier than wind so yea

Ummm… wind for lust… because… curvy tornadoes…?

oh yeah i pulled a gpt and was thinking “earth is gluttony cause things are constantly consumed and reused” when earth ingame is just rocks

wind could be lust because it reveals things

Lightning is Lust- and if it isn’t Zeus is quite adamant on changing that.

very fair point

ig in that case water would be greed and wind would be sloth

Honestly, Sacrifice’s list is pretty good imo; I’d really just swap Shadow and Earth around.

Shadow’s whole gimick is draining things; earth/solids as a whole are the lowest energy state and are desired by the universe for, lack of a better pair of words, being the laziest state possible.

Silas is living proof of the ligtning=lust one of the many zeus legacies

Fire → Wrath (its fire, we all agree on this).

Water → Envy; i could also see this as Lust/Greed (given how i, personally, find lust an opposite of Wrath in a way? That and water is generally quite happy to mix/steal with anything that gets into it, regardless of how willing everything else is to part of it). As for its Envy, i find envy to be a toxic thing, and Water is closest to being an acid/base.

Wind → Pride; the lofty and high up nature of it works… like its a sorta divine feeling, Wind/air is higher than all, you just have to always acknowledge it- and whenever you don’t you forget its innate dangers.

Lightning → Lust; Honestly the Zeus thing is my only argument, I don’t have too much for this. You could say conductivity is a good means of lust. Like, if Lightning finds you suitable- you are suitable There is no denying a current.

Earth → Sloth; Earth/solids are stable and don’t like changing.

Shadow → Gluttony; Shadows gimmick in AO is ceaselessly draining things.

Light → Greed; light is bold… this is probably the least fitting. Light doesn’t take much… and its not something I’d inherently assume. You could argue its a culmination of all other forms of energy… but it feels like light is trying to lose all of its aspects whenever it can.
