With Fort Castrum’s raiding mechanic fully revealed, what are some ideas you guys have for other raidable islands?
I’ll start: I think it would be cool if the Bronze Sea volcano island that Cryo built would have a sky island archipelago above it, one that you wouldn’t be able to reach with a skyship from Cirrus (either due to height limitations or nowhere to stop for fuel on the way). I like the idea of the glider you get for the Skyhall storyline also opening up more areas to explore in the Bronze Sea.
After using a glider to reach the sky islands, there would be a sky pirate base that you could raid. I’m not sure what its equivalent to attacking the outside of Fort Castrum with your ship would be, maybe you could steal one of the pirates’ skyships and attack their own base with it, or maybe you’d have to do aerial combat with the glider? Idk. Then you’d have to do the standard 10 waves of fighting off sky pirates with a boss at the end.
Second idea isn’t a very original one, but it would be cool… the Fenrir. There’s more than one of them, and they would be perfect raidable “islands.” First severely damage it with your own ship (would probably need a whole squad), then board it and fight off the Keraxe waves. Since the miniboss would likely be one of Wotan’s curse-using sons, I think this would probably be a thing you do in the Vimir Sea only after the Vimir storyline, similar to how Fort Castrum seems to be a Bronze Sea activity that’s only for post-Bronze players (judging by the fact Valerii’s drops are level 120).
As for a Dark Sea raid island… What about a ruined city with a gigantic Atlantean Dragon, and a cult of Atlanteans who worship it? You don’t need to blast away at any defenses with your ship like you do with Fort Castrum, instead there would be a stealth segment. Imagine a giant eye looking for you through the holes in the walls of a demolished castle. Or wandering the halls of a cult worship camp, looking on at the profane and morbid rituals and scenery with no choice but to keep your voice hushed lest you become their next victim. After you’ve reached your objective location, you’d fight off waves of the cultists before battling the beast itself.
