Shining Cycle or Whirlwind?

Should I use Shining Cycle or Whirlwind for the 4th skill on my Dense Sunken Sword? I am already using Rising Tide, Sword Draw: Flash Strike, and Flying Slash. If you could list the pros and cons of both skills and list the reasons for using either of them, that would be greatly helpful. This is for a lightning conjurer build. I appreciate any and all feedback.

shining cycle

They’re both interchangeable. Relatively similar function from what I can tell, although since you already have Rising Tide, there’s not much of a reason to use Whirlwind.

What about the hitboxes? In which ways are they similar and different?

The shape’s the same. I would say that Shining Cycle is definitively better than Whirlwind in this instance because of the similar speed and better size, but last time I used it on my own SS its hitbox just barely covered my character.

Maybe it was the attack size bug (Earth Conj on Tempered SS), but I’m not sure about that.

What about the damage? Is it the same?

shining cycle pros:

  • much faster
  • knockback

  • slightly bigger hitbox
  • slightly more damage

i’d go with shining cycles

it’s niche but add better clashing to cycle as well, it can act as an instant projectile shield to finish combos with.

I would but I already have 3 other skills on it so I can’t add 2 more…
