its a real fight but I was talking about combat outside of ship combat, which is significantly more common

im not a fan of getting maxxed out legendary deckhands just to hunt some piece of shit navy member whos ass at the game

This is essentially the ship version of an buff to people running from fights.

The big difference is that this change will also affect ship fights where neither people run

Iā€™m probably not the best person to actually give an opinion on this change, since most people are talking about the small differences in speed between a max speed ship and one that would have max speed but it has cannons.

My biased perspective is that Iā€™m not going to be trying to board their ships anyway since both of them are too fast for me, and that forcing anyone who wants to attack me to deal over 30 thousand damage to my ship is much nicer than them just being able to jump on and attack me.

That being said, if this for some reason affects merchant ships and we have to sink them to buy something, then maybe it isnā€™t such a good idea

If theyā€™re stopped you can get on them

Didnā€™t that only apply to player ships.
(also it would be a little tedious to get them to stop)

Personally I love this change. Respect my time and let me do what I logged on to do instead of dealing with random gankers. Also, something to encourage ship combat was dearly needed. Nobody does it :skull:

Too poor to afford a brig

Iā€™m also too poor to afford proper armor so I fight at a disadvantage where Iā€™m stat ratioed by each opponent I face.

From the perspective of NPC ship battles, thereā€™s no real difference made from this, unless you just want to kill off the NPCs who teleported to agro onto you.

For player ship battles, the change can be either really good or really bad. Iā€™m personally leaning towards bad because of player ships actually sinking in the water when losing all of their durability, and with active player ships having the wind barrier, somebody caught in a hit-and-run canā€™t do anything.
