Ngl this is the only kinda-good argument that I’ve seen for why this could be a bad change, and it doesnt even matter that much bc you can still hop onto the other players ship if it stops after sinking yours.
Also vetex can probably just make so player ships dont sink when losing all of their durability, like npc ships.

From a perspective of a new file you have 2 options.
- Run around the sameria as villain, opening all chests and storages, then selling everything you got for galleons. Then you do the buy-craft-sell gem strategy.
Or
- Marketplace. You need like 100 coppershrooms (each for 200) to get a brig

1k => 20 crates => 2400 galleons
2400 => 48 crates => 5760
5750 => 115 crates => 13800
13800 (6k) => 120 crates => 20k
So you will need 303 cargo boxes to get 20k with spare 400 galleons left.
Are you sure you want to do that?
And i have’nt even counted repair cost and time consumtion. Its the “ideal” calculations.

you can put like 60 crates on a ketch iirc so it’s only 5 trips
so it’s only four cargo trips? and you’ll probably have more than 1k galleons starting out anyway
Alr lets ignore the hw event simply because it wont be in the game anymore tomorrow. But it could easily get u 8k galleons if you do all the quests so thats a big help for a new file.
- Charts can easily get u good money if you sell the modified arcmancer pieces or any good modified gear you get
- Reagent farming for reagents like cloudroots and aeroplasts at the top of the stepstones is an easy way to get small bursts of money. Even easier if you have a file spawn there so that you can server hop to grind those reagents
- Clanbuilding for afking farming reagents for money
- Chest farming like you mentioned
- Selling trash gear you get from charts, chests and sealeds
It really isnt that hard. On my alts i can get 20k within 1 hour of casually doing charts. Even if you exclude the marketplace/trading, it still shouldnt take you much longer than 4 hours of proper grinding. To top it all off, the methods i mentioned prolly arent even the best ones. I wouldnt be surprised if theres a yt tutorial on how to grind galleons easily that explains a better method than i mentioned. There really is no excuse to not having a brig besides laziness and/or a lack of knowledge on how to grind galleons.
Well, last time i was making a file for empires, it was painful for me to run around sameria and opening all the chest and selling everything but gem reagenets.
So far i dont know better method of fast 20k farming with bad boat and bad equipment.
PvE is boring and repetitive so I’m purely a PvP player.
so yeah it kinda works against me like Zormega said where a 1k kills bum sinks my boat and I can’t fodderize him because I can’t just get on his boat and kill him anymore.
Ig ill have to make a new file and not do any trading to understand how easy or hard it is to get 20k, but if you include the marketplace then its piss easy
How can you purely be a pvp player tho? How do you get gear? Or do you just pvp without gear all the time? And if you do have good gear then sorry bro but theres no way u cant get a brig , thats just laziness atp. Sure it may be boring and repetitive in your opinion but by all means you not having a brig after a year (?) of brigs being out is genuinely crazy
As for your other point, ye that would suck
I do the bare minimum of progression then I go out and just start killing people while I still use level 50 armor with basic enchants. Sometimes It gets annoying leveling a file so I just go pvp early (I actually got a lot of levels through pk’s)
Yeah, I’m pretty lazy, I have a PvE slot but I’m too lazy to level an alt to transfer items to my PvP slot.
