With the Frigate and potentially a few other types ships from certain shipwrights around the war seas releasing with chapter 10 in the next update, I would like to introduce a new set of changes or additions to ship’s customization.
Cosmetics
Legendary tier sail decors
Legendary tier sail decors would have intricate designs. The subjects of such sail decors could include gods such as Zeus and Athena, or figures such as Theos.
More Lantern Options
After seeing these diamond-looking lanterns in the Sun Serai, I thought that some new lantern options for ships would be a nice option.
So, I came up with a few ideas to add more lanterns to our ships.
Recoloring with a paintbrush to have more color options, this does not affect the color of the light produced.
Diamond Lanterns would be similar to the one shown in the image above, having fractal shapes and look quite nice
Werelight Lanterns would be small decorated disks on the railings of your ship in the place of lanterns. They have a perpetual casting enchant to create a small orb of light magic above the disk. Can be brought to a dyer to change the (secondary) color of the disk itself, and to an enchanter to change the color of the orb. (The orb floating above the disk isn’t a projectile)
More Weapon Options
New Siege Weapon Types
I think a few new siege weapons could be added to improve variety across ships and playstyles.
Harpoons, these weapons are like the harpoons seen in chapter 6. When landed, a small sum of damage is dealt and the enemy ship is slowed similarly to the affect of a chainshot, and is dragged at a somewhat slow rate toward your ship. Brisk and swift do not affect the reload speed, but instead the pull rate.
Turrets will be rotating platforms holding a maneuverable weapon on top.
Arcanium Gun: A large cannon made of arcanium. Instead of launching roundshots at the enemy, it instead charges up a powerful blast dealing high damage to the enemy ship. It deals high DOT on hit if the used magic can apply it.
Grand Cannon: As the name suggests, it is a grand cannon. The Grand Cannon lobs very large roundshots at the enemy with a (somewhat) short range and has a slower rotation speed than the other turrets.
Sequencing Gun: An experimental set of 4 light cannons with a strange setup allowing efficient reload and firing of all 4 cannons in quick succession. While the setup fires quickly, this makes it prone accident. A ruined set can be found from dark sealed chests at level 180, but an upgraded variant can be obtained via chests in the Vimir sea and up at level 250.
New Hull Types
Cladding
A hull type in which the whole outer hull is covered in metal, greatly increasing durability but reducing speed significantly(by like 5 or 10).
Tiers
Ruined Cladding: Unlocked at level 120 from dark sealed chests, the ship’s hull is largely covered in rusted metal plates, with the rest being rotted wood since the dark sea has eaten away at the ship.
Iron Cladding: Unlocked at level 170, the ship’s hull is full covered in a layer of iron plating.
Silver Cladding: Unlocked at level 250, the ship’s hull is fully covered in a layer of silver plating.
Gold Cladding: Unlocked at level 350, the ship’s hull is fully covered in a layer of gold plating.
Titanium Cladding: Unlocked at level 500, the ship’s hull is fully covered in a layer of titanium plating.
