Should savants be able to coat their weapons after first awakening?

As it stands, savants are one of the weakest classes alongside their vitality counterparts. Oracle armor was recently released but rn it just seems not to be enough. SO :speaking_head:, we see Shura, a weak conjurer WITHOUT an awakening as our first boss and he can coat magic on his weapons. Why can’t us savants do the same after our first awakening? We are technically powerful enough to do it. Obviously this would be temporary (like a mode that lasts longer with intensity). Savant buff? Intensity buff? Give savants with equally spread stats a reason to exist? Yes please. What would u guys think of this existing lore wise?

Stat builds arent exactly lore accurate, they were added due to players wanting non-magic progression, and this was Vetex’s way to do it upon game revamp.

Canonically, MC is someone who has the potential to learn any skill, basically a Savant. And my guess is, in canon, theyre more of a gradual one, learning different skills over time. In Bronze Sea, theyre introduced to magic and only focuses on that, by Nimbus Sea, they later get introduced into Spirit Energy and Spirit Weapons, and so on and so forth.

Conjurers, Warlocks… any hybrid class is basically just a stat build for people who wants to do more than just one thing. But in canon, its not like a Mage isnt allowed to pick up and learn how to do weapons.

Theres also this thing called “Arcanium Weapons”. It allows a Mage to conduct magic into weapons. Thats basically what you see happening with Shura. You actually dont need “Awakening” to do that kind of stuff, thats just a gameplay thing.

I think the only stuff that happens for MC as a DIRECT result of Awakening is a new magic, and possibly whatever Vitality will have.

The only reason why Savants seems weak rn is because… well, theres not enough stat points to effectively invest in three or more stats, and we never got 2nd Awakening. 2nd Awakening is literally OP, Savants can imbue on basically any of their skills and literally get DOUBLE imbue, and will be able to imbue magic and fs into a weapon or something at the same time.

the defense + regen is still bugged, and doesn’t give any actual stats :frpensive:

power and regen too… unless 80 power gives +6 dmg is intended

This is indeed my clip

blasts are both 20/20

buff savant chat

I hate to sound like “that guy,” but I need a source on being able to imbue two things into one FS/Weapon at the same time. I keep hearing it and I don’t know where it came from.

One thing I keep wondering about is if it’s actually possible in-lore to forget how to use Magic. It’s possible for an Awakened Mage to learn Fighting Styles and Weapons, but could a Magic-user who awakens as a non-Magic build actually forget it? And if so do they just throw the extra lifespan out the window?

Oh my god this is so funny to watch

just this metal mage zooming around and trying their hardest and then this fucking savant with access to only bow m1s destroying them via standing around and barely moving :joy: :joy:

this why siren bow goated. it has 0 cooldown and its so spammable

Theres a reason why the Warlock and Conjurer awakenings are specifically called Warlock/Conjurers Focus
it implies to maintain an imbuement, you need to focus on it, and it takes training to be able to maintain that focus in a battle.
Thus currently only Warlock and Conjurer can use Magic imbuement because thats pretty much their entire thing, combining their magic with their skill in weaponry or martial arts.

And i can confirm even without imbuements, Savants are still incredibly powerful if used right, but you need to learn how to use it properly.
I have a friend who mains Savant, and he can absolutely dominate even a mage at times.

Mechanically? No they should not lmao

In lore? Yeah

I dont think so tbh. I remember the QnA revealing that your chatacter actually just chooses not to use magic if you chose a non-magic progression build. They still can, just doesnt. I think the “You forgot how to use x” is just some excuse to explain why you cant use other skills now upon awakening lol

Magic is a learned ability. Even with MC losing memories, they still seemed to somewhat retain their ability to use it still (the blast magic option is free). Its probs some muscle memory for them. I dont think you can forget it that easily, even with amnesia.

But iirc, the stronger you are with magic, the longer your lifespan is. Its not like you can use magic, and your lifespan is automatically higher. You’d have to be stronger. So if they choose not to use magic… theyll basically live a normal lifespan, probably. But in canon, that wont really work in the long term, as magic trumps all basically. So in canon, MC will probs continue using magic. Maybe use Spirit Weaps too later on

Oh yeah, I know Im bumping this up, but are you by chance able to show the full screenshot of what Vetex says about Awakening? It seems to be cut off :eyes:

in other words

we suck

Ah, that explains why we rarely see any NPCs with imbuement lol
