Showing different kinds of builds in the Profile menu

On my first run-through of AO, I found myself conflicted as to which build to choose, because I had no clue which build would do what.

Mockup

Proposal

I propose that (as shown in the mockup) There would be a little button which, when clicked on would show the possible builds and explain what they entailed. This would help with new players, and hopefully make the choice of which build a little less intimidating.

gonna be useful for beginners, but this suggestion is almost breaking the first suggestions rule, add something more before the mods consider it as an low effort

should be a npc or something near the beginning of the game or like part of tutorial, something like that

This would work really good as most players put their stats into everything or just put it into magic then have to stat reset at endgame when they realise there are other builds. But each build should have its pros and cons so people don’t pick the one with the better description.

This is why i chose to invest into everything

yea like me lmao i put my stats into vitality magic and strength thinking it was like every other stat based game

dang, that’s a thing? Imma go reread the rules…

Mockup is a bit crude, but I like the idea of implementing more of the wiki into the game. I’d put more information than just the icons and names of the builds - probably more of an infographic like this image on the wiki:

Maybe I’d also add better descriptions for how each class plays like instead of what they’re themed around.

I think the idea is that you click each icon and it gives a brief description of the class and its capabilities.

That doesn’t sound that bad.

But an infographic would still be nice imo just because of how visuals can be quickly and intuitively understood. The player would probably be very new to the game upon seeing it, so you really want to make the information simple and concise instead of making them READ (Difficulty: Impossible) (for gacha players at least).

But adding an option to read the classes more in depth is still good.

I mean any sorta graph that just says “[class name] is X + X” would tell the player next to nothing.
If it isn’t going to give the players any useful information on how the classes and their abilities differ then there really isn’t any point to adding it in the first place lol.

Its my first try man. :frowning:

Don’t worry, that’s lore accurate

The project moon community salutes you

ur character built like a neanderthal

It’s not mine, I stole it off the internet because I couldn’t be bothered to open AO.

This is my drip before the Nimbus Sea update
