Loading into a server and discovering you spawned at the edge of the map[1] is just a pain in the asses of most people who’ve used the spawnpoint save feature, made worse by the fact that high-demand spawn locations such as Palo Town often result in a camp being placed exactly where yours is.
I propose that, if the player’s spawn location is obstructed, instead of ignoring it, the game spawns them on the island or general location that their camp was placed on.
which is a stupid default spawn location but that’s not what this suggestion is about ↩︎
Just one thing I wanted to add, what if when loading into a server you actually had a map view of the sea and could select locations that you’ve visited (which may require the player to 100% the exploration tasks for that island) and you could then select a particular island that you want to spawn on or use your camp spawn. (However certain islands might not be accessible until you’ve completed certain chapters of the story, and other islands might not be selectable to spawn on at all)
(Also if you use this method for spawning in you forfeit anything stored in your ship to prevent players from fast travelling with cargo)
But overall your suggestion is still really good for the QoL features that the game should have.
