Tried pvping again in a while and all I gotta say is that it ain’t worth doing so in this update for obvious reasons ( cough Warrior moments cough ). Well aside from the problems in this update, I noticed some stuff with magics that obstructs your vision. On one hand, you get a gimmick that’s useless and on the other too effective in specific low effort combinations. I’d like to at least make it near equal to each other while also preventing complete blindness from low effort attacks (Yeah im talking about you people who spam surge and those who spam with really high attack speed to blind people). I’d like to make it so that it’s possible to effectively avoid their attacks when completely blinded rather than relying purely on intuition using back dashes and such because let’s face it, on a normal open world gank, just two people with a blinding magic can easily cheese you by taking turns on blinding you and note that there isn’t any potion that can negate it :skull:.

Squinting Feature

  • Squinting would replace the stacking visual effects of magics whose gimmick is to obscure your enemy’s vision. This would look like black borders on both the top and bottom part of your screen.

  • The magic’s original visual effects will still stay though only at one stack to serve as the magic’s signature visual effect.

  • Squinting feature will have levels with each respective magic contributing to its level. The sole purpose of this change is to prevent blind cheesing while still keeping the gimmick of the magic.

Each Magic Vision Damage

  • This would serve as the damage of each stack can cause to trigger the squinting effect.

    Snow: 0.5
    Light: 1

Levels

  • This is only to show an example on how it would look. Excuse the image btw, I’m not on my pc rn so I took some saved pics in my phone and edited them.

Level 0
Vision Damage Requirement: 0
Effect: No vision obscurement.

Level 0 Example

Level 1
Vision Damage Requirement: 0.5
Effect: Slight vision obscurement.

Level 1 Example

Level 2
Vision Damage Requirement: 3
Effect: Partial vision obscurement.

Level 2 Example

Level 3
Vision Damage Requirement: 5.5
Effect: Extreme vision obscurement, it’s now harder to see a little bit.

Level 3 Example

Level 4
Vision Damage Requirement: 8
Effect: Really extreme vision obscurement, you now only rely on silhouettes.

Level 4 Example

Level 5
Vision Damage Requirement: 11.5
Effect: You can only somewhat make out where you’re going.

Level 5 Example

TLDR

  • The asian experience in arcane odyssey.

I don’t see how this changes anything except for making every blinding effect visually the same.

Oh, their original visual effect still stays though only as the one stack effect. Squinting your vision is what would replace the stacking effect of blind.

Capping the blind would be the best choice to where it can’t cause complete blindness but that would make it useless since you’ll still be able to see people without any problems.

So pretty much I thought of adding squinting your eyes visually when obscured by the blind effects with the last one heavily limiting your vision but still allows you to fight unlike the current one we have.

this would work if u didn’t proceed to make the big levels literal blindness. how does this solve anything ??? all that did was add a common global effect to blinding magics.

and idk about you but both look identical to me. one is colorful blindness and the other is just a black screen, i don’t see how this solved anything.
