Both quests should appear very early on in progression similar to the cooking quest.

During Enizor’s questline he could give you the materials to make a lesser mystery vial while teaching you the basics of brewing as a display of gratitude for helping him.

A craftsman at palo town could give the jewelcrafting quest and very specifically give the players the materials needed to make a crude energizing jewel so they can have a small amount of natural magic restoration from that point on.
(1 glass gem and 5 arcane salt)
The glass gem given by the craftsman should be naturally worse than other gems by having no natural stats since the player is given it for free so players are incentivized to go and find real gemstones and make actual good jewels later on.

I believe that having all of the “professions” introduced to the player much earlier on can only be a positive for the vast majority.

No issues with this suggestion, I think it would be worthwhile to have a quest about diving as well (if that doesn’t already exist)

This makes a lot of sense, is there a jewelcrafting quest in game currently? I have no idea and if there isn’t, think that it would be a perfect addition to early-game

Good suggestion spotted, vetex will 100% deny it

I think this makes a lot of sense, honestly.

I love the idea, we need more quests anyways and it would also give the players an actual good reason to go to palo town. plus the extra quest will make it easier to reach lvl 40

Good suggestion, this should be extended to all professions or “thing you can level up from decent to perfect” if more are planned.

Yeah

hopefully he’ll see this if it gets enough votes

i dont see why not, also it introduces the mechanic for players

As for now I think this is a fine suggestion but more professions will likely be added down the line so I think it would be nice to have them all introduced over the course of the entire bronze sea as opposed to all in the first 60 minutes of gameplay where it might be easy to miss/forget by the time they actually want to utilize those features.

There’s plenty of room in the bronze sea for more professions.
If every major populated island had its own specialty that would unlock a new progression and enable new things, that’d be cool.

Absolutely agree I feel like railroading the player into all of the professions is something with benefits and drawbacks. On one hand it exposes it to them early but on the other hand you run the risk of them being overloaded and not using all the features and ultimately forgetting them.

I really like the idea of certain islands specializing in certain things, encouraging players to explore around to learn new professions. Obviously being forced to learn cooking immediately makes sense since it’s imperative to not dying but the rest are things that don’t/didn’t exist until recently and are things that should reward thorough exploration of the Bronze Sea.

True, but brewing would make bosses like Elius and Calvus so much easier. [STATEMENT ABOUT JEWELCRAFTING REMOVED] The current brewing tutorial teaches the player how to make harming potions. If it was just moved to Frostmill or Palo Town I think it would be better cuz they get them before Lord Elius, who is stupidly hard. Also, introducing players to the brewing system before they go to the sky islands, where there are many reagents and catalysts, would be nice because the quest NPC can tell them ‘there are many reagents and catalysts on cloud islands, like sky pinecones and coppershrooms, keep an eye out in case you ever go there.’ It additionally introduces players to depth early on in a game that is mostly lacking it.

remember that you can unsocket gems and reuse them whenever you want for a small fee.

:man_facepalming: never mind that jewel crafting part then, I’m not experienced with it

I think this is a pretty good suggestion. Just hope it makes it to Vetex’s ears and he listens.
