Adding movement velocity to weapon throws while grounded when using the skill.
Very simple change, when grounded, weapons throws will not lock you in place while you cast the skill.
For example:
Not only that, it should also add the player’s velocity to the weapon due to the movement. Causing it to move faster (not more damage), however, similar to whirlwind, you cannot dash with it but you can still cast it at the start of dashing. The Aerial version of the skill is unchanged and will still lock you in place.
I don’t get why this tech is exclusive to whirlwind, when skills like shining cycle which does a very similar role, can’t.
If you’re concerned about NPCs moving and throwing weapons, worry not, they do also have an accuracy stat and they can only aim from the same point and position of the initial dash. They will most likely miss and you can punish anyways. Also do you know how freaking difficult it is to move and throw accurately in real life??? Much less in game…
momentum carrying over into weapon throws would make them useless if you’re strafing, since it’s impossible to factor in the weapon speed while moving. Other than that, pretty decent suggestion
Its already fast enough, + if Javelin spell would allow you to move while casting, then why wouldnt like half of all the spells allow you to do the same
I like the idea of you being able to throw it while you move, but not so much of adding the velocity of the player to the weapon since it’ll just make the weapon far more complex with physics that aren’t a main focus of the game.
Honestly you should just be able to move while using a weapon or casting a spell. If people really wanted to not move while casting, maybe add a setting in the customization area for allowing it disallowing movement. Definitely think it would improve the game if you could move while doing stuff though (ship combat of pain)
