Small rant about quite literally brainrot

it’s so fricking tiring trying to explain a simple party game rules, to a group of people who can’t focus on the damn rules for ONE minute, without immediately scrolling on YouTube shorts or whatever. It’s like NO ONE has an attention span these days. I literally have severe ADHD and can focus on a presenter throughout the whole 1 hour presentation, (and ask questions), yet NO ONE can focus on the damn game rules for 1 minute. It’s actually so damn annoying and it’s why I would never be a teacher or public speaker in my life.

Then they proceed to ask a question I just went over 20 times. So I spent 20 minutes trying to get them to focus, and when they did, I said “wait my notes page just crashed” and IMMEDIATELY they go back to scrolling brainrot :sob: I let one of them borrow my phone for a sec and my watch history is already flooded with YouTube shorts with my phone saying +1 whopping hour on screen time.

My teacher asked “would you rather scroll all day in bed or go to school to learn” and just GUESS WHAT THEY CHOOSE :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:

Edit: ok TLDR for those who didn’t read -_-

people can’t listen to directions or something for 3 minutes without being distracted, and then when it’s time to actually play the game or whatever no one can retain the directions

Edit: they told me they didn’t listen because the game wasn’t “fun” even though the game is literally a revamp of our favorite party game so… and then when I ask them to tell me how it works they are blank. How do I do this bro :skull:

hey that tldr is pretty long can you make a tldr for it

oh my god i cant stand shit like this

another thing, people will ask questions as im (or anybody) is explaining something please for the love of god let me talk first (though i think thats both being incapable of waiting for an explanation/just asking later and being really rude). edit: i can understand this in certain situations and depending on who im talking to, but when its a near constant flow of interruptions like it sometimes is thats not okay :sob:

ive had people genuinely talk to the same people im talking to at the same time as me and not see the issue immediately. how do you get like this.

also sick of people who never research anything and get all of their info and views from the things they decide (or are given) to look at online which i think counts as brainrot

tl;dr, bumbus kiddos can’t focus on game rules because they have goldfish brain

I’m a little bit upset that many people nowadays have taken the stance of concerned 2010s educators and parents telling you that video games will make your brain rot so that they can scare you into not liking it, except now people actually believe it does.

Example; Skibidi Toilet, it’s literally just animated action scenes after the first few episodes, but people hear the scat music and assume that it’s some kind of ritual chant that makes children fixate like the Pied Piper.
That combined with shame over it being Gmod content that many of them used to like as kids, along with toilet humor, it’s a recipe for disaster in this realm, that’s why it’s my example.

What this post is talking about is what we really need to be concerned with. The Cocomelon ahh content that overloads the human brain and makes it adjust to never wait for anything again.
