Okay, so I was writing something, and while writing that something, it kinda occurred to me. How does MC actually know Morden’s name?
I mean, ignoring the big “Morden” hanging above his head, Morden actually never seems to have told MC his name in the brief interaction they have at the beginning of the story. I mean, looking at all of the dialogue options, not a single one has him mention his name, really. And later when MC encounters him again, they know his name from one of the dialogue options.
Even Neviro introduces his name in one dialogue option, and considering how Morden is an important character, I dont think this would be missed.
So to best ask the question… did Morden just let MC know his name and was just skipped, or did MC actually remember his name despite memory loss and thats the only thing their amnesiac brain seems to remember? Or am I just overthinking in a lego game?
Probs the last one, though I kinda need it to be either one of the first two for something Im working on (tho Id probs never post it, Id still need it)… would you prefer if MC remembered Morden’s name already, or does it make more sense that Morden actually told MC his name and it just wasnt added in the game?
That was my only real assumption. The main reason I thought of this was because earlier today I realised that Iris doesn’t actually know MC’s name for most of the story. I think that most situations where people know, they have a reason to know however.
It is evident from Edward Kenton’s dialogue that MC does talk to the characters more than we actually get to see in game, so I guess that’s when most of the introductions take place.
I assume that Morden probably told Iris and Neviro though
Amnesia is amnesia, but probably we have his name incripted into our brain cause we were…besties before? Just like with magic??? I dunno, seems liek bad writting cause if you look at Dawn Island dialogue, there’s no mentioning of Morden saying his name.
There’s npc in Frostmill not so far from Owin, and he basicly said smth among the lines of “news spead fast across the seas”.
We resolved acid sea problem? => Everyone know us in Redwake
We helped calm down Iris? => Everyone know us on Frostmill
Frostmill is Ravenna’s territory from where they grab ice, so rumors could spread through those ships, and then to other sailors etc etc
could be an oversight in writing, or maybe we just manage to remember it somehow, similar to how we can already use basic form of magic ( blast ) without anyone teaching us
Oh that is true, I don’t think we actually tell them our name, but as I have previously said we do talk to characters outside of what we can actually see in the story.
The only real issue with ravenna finding out our name through frostmill is that they would know that the issue was already dealt with and that calvus would have no need to actually go there
