So I've been thinking about dialogue in arcane odyssey

it was a strange choice that elius just started yapping about curses to some random enemy on his death bed, why did he do that? now I headcanon him as autistic and really really passionate about sea curses/magic.

theres also some other strange dialogues like the guy in palo town talking about the many religions of the world, brings into question, how does information travel across the seas that fast and constant for everyone in every island to be updated? I think its interesting !

logistically, with how much seas is there, there’d be some major culture in each one across all the islands in them, just like the marauder sea having a majority of pirate influence…

It’s basically common knowledge there.
It’s like if a person today asked you what is a gun.
It’s not like he explained to us some obscure fact about how they came to be or why, he just told us their general appearance and uses.

He was just trying to make it less painful for himself to acknowledge that he lost to someone with the level of knowledge of a caveman.

no that’s me, not elius

socially, i like to think how crucial ships are for passing materials and travel, that information follows the same flow. there has to be a lot of interaction since there’s a surplus of cargo you can buy and deliver, so to consider a pretty much constant flow of trade would yield the same effect for information.

granted, the in game scaling of the map and time may not be 100% accurate to lore, but if my brig (not fully optimized for speed) can go from sameria to frostmill in less than 20 minutes (estimating), then an establishment (agora) supported vessel could probably print and transfer information at a much larger pace than i
