Seriously though, what even is it? Real explosions aren’t physical things (or at least from my knowledge). All they do is throw stuff around? In-game, it looks to be just a better fireball. get its energy, but how does it work!?! And what even is the magic suppose to be!?!

It’s an energy magic based off explosions, it seems they derive their energy from that or they generate explosions.
But look at an explosion. It’s often times just stuff being thrown around by a force. And while it maybe just be that, a force, the blast attack shows it being clumped together.
Explosions, but magical
Y’know in the movies when you see a large fireball covered in smoke?
Explosion magic is that but magic.
“Explosion” isn’t really a thing, but neither is “fire.” They are chemical reactions. But, in a magic game, you can create magics around concepts. Its fine if you break the laws of physics because breaking the laws of physics is pretty much the definition of magic.
super volatile energy that explodes violently upon contact with a surface
to be bloody honest i don’t even fucking know
it’s just so unnecessary
Reason 1: It makes perfect logical sense for it to be a magic.
Simply, your argument against Explosion is that explosions are reactions and have no technical substance. This is invalid because it can be applied to between 2-4 of the most iconic magics in magic games.
Wind is not air, wind is a rushing current of air. Yes, wind requires air, but we are still attributing a substance to a non-substance, exactly what explosion does. Wind is a rushing current of air, explosion is a sudden, heated burst of air and/or other substances.
This becomes even less valid once comparing to Shadow, which is literally by definition substanceless, as a shadow is just the absence of light. Yet, as we can see, Shadow is shown as a black smoke.
Fire and Lightning have a similar thing going for them as well, as a fire isn’t actually the same as a flame by definition, and lightning and electricity are still reactions, however flames and fire are still interdependent concepts, and viewing both Fire and Lightning from these perspectivse is highly technical anyways so I do not counts these as much.
Even Light, despite being composed of photons/radiation can barely be considered of substance, if we could even consider those substances.
Reason 2: Explosion is iconic.
Almost every single magic game on Roblox features combustion or explosion, from Arc of the Elements to Elemetal Battlegrounds. Explosions are also seen as a powers, just see Konosuba (which to my knowledge the main 3 characters’ powers are intended to be elemental), JoJo, or BNHA, which literally has Bakugo, one of the most mainstream characters in all of anime, possessing explosive powers.
Explosions are still combustions so it makes sense they look like fire, but there is a clear visual differece between Fire and Explosion, and having Explosion’s visuals on Fore would definitely not fit.
Also we don’t know the composition of Acid or Poison either, nor whatever fuels fire.
its explosion that goes boom and boom and does much hurt yes
What the hell even IS magic!? We summon elements from our hands and feet?
Magic is magic
No seriously, i can explain it to yiu right now, but due to laziness, it would be better for you to check other posts
Alright so imagine picking up a bomb and throwing it at somebody.
That’s explosion magic blasts.
(Do not try this at home… or anywhere outside of games, actually.)
Most magic systems are based off beliefs about the universe before the discovery of atoms, for instance. It’s only natural that they make little sense in this regard.
The AU is a magical universe, anyway. Their universe, having been created by supernatural entities (as far as I am aware), probably allows for such things. The authors of said universe have the freedom to explain and leave ambiguous as much as they please.
Splody fire
yes this is true but the Konosuba reference bothered me so ima correct you dont take offense. only two of the characters are elemental, and there are 4 main characters.
magic is an energy inside our bodies in the AU. Magic that is not curse related is just magic energy mimicking or pretending to be an element.
Sorry for the one month bump, but I guess you could say that the reaction that happens in this video is explosion magic.
It’s like Bakugon from that one anime idk I didn’t watch it
