Some Coppershroom farming info i got

I was going to mount orthys for coppershroms, and I noticed I only find them on the east side. I decided to fact check this, and did 2 runs, where I documented every coppershroom spot I found:

The spots are separated by color, with ones of the same color being found in the same run. I got NO coppershrooms from the west side.

I got ~30 shrooms from run 1, and ~15 from run 2. The spawns seem to be taken up by other pickups and less coppershrooms spawn in general after a run, decreasing each time. Even if you pick up most of the stuff in the caverns, pinecones start taking
up the space.

After some testing, there are NO spawns on the west side, so only east side seems to be worth looting. You get 10-15 coppershrooms on an average run if you clear out the caverns using a potion of revealing.

Additional things I observed:

  • Coppershrooms mostly spawn on the edges/corners, and never in the middle of a part.
  • Coppershrooms dont spawn on the grass.
  • Lifeblooms spawn in big coppershroom piles.
Edit 1:

Did another run on the eastern side only, got 7 coppershrooms, now I am convinced that the 1st theory was right, edited that part to fit the new info. Most spawns probably go into the caverns, but I have no will to go there and explore that dark place… Maybe after i get legendary clearsight pots.

Edit 2:

Mostly cleared out the cavern thanks to revealing potion even though it bugged after I hit a shark (Clearsight 2 did nothing btw). After another east-only run I got 10 coppershrooms, which is worrying me, as it is not as consistent as I want it. Most likely some pinecones spawned in and filled up spots for pickup items.
Added some more info and edited some parts to fit the new data.
Going to compile these edits into a dropbox from now on so that they dont clog up the post.

Edit 3:

Did yet another one after clearing out all of the cavern with revealing pot, got 13. Pretty sure 10-15 is the “usual” you will get. Checked west side for spawns, nothing at all. Pinecones do spawn in higher amounts, you will need to pick some up to make sure you get more shrooms.
Edited some parts to fit the new data.
Probably will stop the edits for now, maybe when there is more actual info.

Now that we got dodge reflex (airdash), farming on Jaws might actually be more viable, and if someone can bring me stats, I will edit this post to include them.

Have you also tried looking at the Jaws?

I did, one shroom per around 5 spires did not interest me.
While we are here, Stepstones are not that bad, but if you need more than 5, orthys is much better.

If you don’t want to constantly dash all day long the entrance of Cirrus Island village is a great place. It’s great if you are not yet max cause you can farm the sky apples quest while waiting for the copper shrooms to spawn also cloud root spawn with it most of the time.

Update (over 30 mins ago since i started doing farming and replying in this)

this is what I got by doing this, aeroplast spawn in here to with some basic herbs.

I usually can get a bit more from the jaws, but it probably also takes longer
(Oh this is 3 months later…whoops)

Relevant necropost, farming the Jaws is comically easy now with dodge reflexes, and even more so with an agility build. I managed to get ~50 Shrooms with a thorough sweep of the Jaws, but a run targeting the best spots could probably get 35+ in half the time.

Even without agility?

сonsidering how popular jaws is now, i still think orthys is viable
will solution though, this is a good point

Yes, agility just increases the total width you can cover. I have a barrier dodge so burst/faster reflexes might not even need agility
