Having a chain and ball as a strength weapon with mid range capability could also be a cool addition, would give strength users more range and would be a good addition to weapon users’ already impressive arsenal
So, effect arrows, might be possible, but it’s more likely to happen as “apply potion of (effect) to bow, arrows now inflict (effect)”.
I rambled about throwing weapons a bit
Misc. Thrown weapons? A possibility with potential. Though, it might have to happen as a “handheld launching device” thing, where you can swap between different small-ish blades as an ammo type. Or it would end up being weird.
Possible skills would, as far as I can tell, be fairly similar to the bow, or the guns, though.
Could disregard the “launching device” part, but, well, how do you enchant your hands and/or hundreds of small blades? How do you upgrade either of those?
Another alternative I can think of, would be to have this “weapon type” being whatever containers one would use for whatever projectile you want to use. Maybe a bag of pebbles as the “old”, low quality version?
Then a somewhat unique weapon skill could just be grabbing the entire bag, and hitting someone with it in melee.
And another could be jumping backwards, while throwing (insert small number here) of (insert projectile here) in the direction you came from, either all at once, and bunched up/in a cone shape, or rapidly, one after the other.
No idea if this should lack an ammo system entirely, have a limited amount of projectiles in every “container” that refreshes every now and then, or if it should have separate ammunition for almost every different “container”. The first seems unrealistic, the second and third both seem frustrating, unless, for option 2, the timer is reasonably short, or for option 3, the ammunition you “need” (aka, have a container for) appears in sufficient amounts, often enough.
Ball and Chain? Did you mean: Flail?
A weapon like that would not be easy to implement, if you want any realism for it. And getting good controls for something like that would be a nightmare, I daresay, unless you want it to have a typical, predictable combo that has half the community screaming in outrage.
All in all, interesting ideas, unlikely to be added as currently written.
with the throwables, i think some other things can also be implemented such as blowing darts as a ‘subweapon’ (you dont need to waste one of your ‘weapon slots’ on it, and can be directly equipped from the inventory)
its an overal good suggestion with the subweapons, and i also have some ideas
flaming arrow - this arrows tip is doused in oil and gunpowder, making it good for setting enemies or ships ablaze, but to make it flammable, the tip is made of wood, decreasing its damage while also increasing its range due to the lightness of the wood, its availability is in-between the golden and silver arrw
round coconut - this coconut is very round, suitable to be used as a makeshift canonball, its range is moderate-long with very low damage, but it has a splinter AoE with the shards flying out and inflicts the enemy with the soaked status, its usuable with canons and people with canonfist, 20% chance to spawn inplace of a coconut

Some alright ideas here. Poison tipped arrows aren’t a bad idea, but if they just inflict the poisoned status effect they’ll be really boring and noone would use them. Shurikens/throwing weapons sound fine, but I’m mainly interested in the chain and ball (which sounds like a flail). I’d imagine that it works like Terraria flails where you hold click to spin it around you and then release to fling it forward, additionally you can click while it is thrown to hold it on the ground.
This isn’t really related to the flail strength weapon, but I think strength weapons should directly synergize with fighting styles instead of being a big weapon. For example, you should be able to use fighting style abilities on the ball while it is laying on the ground to move it, such as by using rushdown to grab the ball and throw it again. This would make strength weapons feel like they belong in a strength-weapons class instead of just being normal weapon types with more stats.
