I was never good in Physics or Chemistry but I would like an explanation to why Plasma and Lightning are two seperate magics?
From what I’ve researched Plasma isn’t an element in itself, it’s actually a fundamental state of matter. So why is it considered a separate magical element then other magics. Also I might be mistaken here but isn’t Plasma and Lightning like SUPER similar, why aren’t they just the same?
Lightning = (pretty much) just electricity
plasma = super heated gas
they aren’t the same (although lightning does produce plasma)
both can technically be considered plasma, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same thing
plasma magic itself refers to superheated air
lightning magic refers to the discharge of electricity
the PROPERTIES are different, which is what matters

plasma is a state of matter where the nuclei can separate to form a soup of neutrons, protons and electrons.
Fun fact: plasmas are electrically conductive, meaning that if you were to stand on the sun, you would get electrocuted

would being a state of matter prevent something from being a type of magic?
No but it just seems weird in contrast with the other magics which often take on the form of some conjuring of an element
