Something something wheat fields on sand "bug"

so many people keep saying stuff along the lines of “wheat fields are bugged! you can place them on things that aren’t grass!”, and on the wiki it seemingly also says that wheat fields cannot be placed on islands without grass.

but like, where was this even stated? I’ve checked all the patch notes since wheat fields were added, and never did it mention any restrictions to placing them. I tried to look through vetex’s discord messages for wheat fields, no result. tried it for moochez, no result. even tech, no result.
and there’s nothing about it in the bug archive on the trello as well.

so no, I don’t think it’s a bug.

but even if it was a ‘bug’, what’s the harm in it? the money you gain from them can only be put into building other structures. and with cassia bay giving so many farm slots it makes it easier to farm money for huge projects, which is what makes clan building actually fun.

When trying to place wheat on sand or non-grass the game gives you an error message that wheat can only be placed on grass (at least, it’s supposed to give you that message). Thus, suddenly being able to place it is likely unintentional and a bug

I don’t clan build anymore so I haven’t experienced the bug myself, but I think this is the point; cassia bay becomes very profitable when you can place wheat on it, making it much easier compared to other islands which was not intended since you’re not supposed to be able to place wheat on it.

Not sure if Vetex is aware of the bug or if he plans on fixing/leaving it, but I’m fairly sure it is in fact a bug
