(something winged humanoid pvp rpg): Thoughts?

updated stats with spells (i wanna make elements more drastic in changes?)

spells:

  • Blast (magic ball spell)
  • "Flame"thrower/Cone (just like normal ignis/gelidus cone spell from rogue lineage)
  • Bullets
  • Damage Aura (similar to self explosion but longest windup among all spells)
  • Continuous Beam: beam that works like Elemental Battleground Darkness Ultimate/Spell 5
  • Pillar Nail: just like WoM/AO non continuous beam

Water:

  • Damage: 0.7x (ice is 1.2)
  • Speed: 0.9x (ice is 0.6)
  • Size: 1.5x (ice is 1.55)
  • Mana Cost: 0.8x (0.9x for ice variant)
  • Cooldown: 0.9x
  • Physical/Elemental Damage Ratio: 95%/5% (ice is 90%/10%)
  • Special Status Effect: Slowness (-25% flight speed for 5 seconds)
  • [Ability] Extinguish (remove fire DoT instantly)

Fire:

  • Damage: 0.5x → 0.25x (DoT of +3x damage, DoT reliant magic)
  • Speed: 1.4x
  • Size: 1.7x

(ngl removing the shields mightve been a bad idea but i had a logical reason for it: you cant make a shield out of fire irl and lightning)

How would you fight a wind mage? They’d be better at landing attacks than every other magic except equinox, and even if you do somehow get close to them, their ability makes them faster than you, so they could get further away

i’m… unsure… it’d be a little hard to land the moves anyways i guess, but the gameplay is to tank some of their hits…

also i might remove the speed boost but keep the stamina boost

does using an attack slow you down

yes, during the windup (25% flight speed reduction)

oh ok then that makes sense. If they attack you while moving away, you’ll be able to close the gap because of the flight speed reduction

wait do landed attacks do knockback

yes, small-medium knockback

no offense but if one of the literal only ways to fight something is just “tank hits” that seems inherently unbalanced

also add poison element heeheehawhaw

im gonna change wind’s stats to reduce or remove that intended gimmick

wind’s gimmick could be a mainly dodge/agility play style with high aoe but low damage

the reason i made wind have shit damage is because if you’re somehow fighting in the sky while flying, wind magic is gonna be screwed since it relies on hitting enemies against other solid objects (although the wind magic users are probably using 600+ mph wind or compressed air bursts)

possible intended element gimmick/playstyle list

water: ??? (possibly a stun playstyle with somewhat slow hits)
fire: can be defensive or offensive, but mainly rely on DoT, possibly agility/dodging playstyle
earth: ???
wind: agility dodge playstyle, high aoe, low damage, possibly stall/slow down fights
lightning: careful, accurate, sniper playstyle
equinox: ???
flora: partially reliant on DoT + poison attacks, a little slow, (possibly win through diverse arsenal/savant?)
fauna: lifesteal/healing, (possibly win through diverse arsenal/savant?)

Flying farts with flappy parts is the best name

I just stumbled upon this but having a few flaws if you pick a certain boon would be nice. Being slower if you pick better inventory or something

i wouldnt do slowness for better inventory (unless you use the bonus inventory spaces) because inventory doesnt affect pvp (aside from preparation which sucks) while slowness does

more speed for unstable flight? Anyways, that was just an example. Most simple one I could think of but it’s just a concept
