Okay so in the moments of boredom I’ve recently discovered this thing called Stage Discovery on Discord and let me tell you the things I’ve seen entertain me to a level that no soap opera could.
Talent Shows
Forget America’s or Britain’s Got Talent, cable is not needed to encounter such masterpieces that occur here. Basically there’s these group of people that basically host the whole thing and people come up one by one to sing, play instruments, or do impressions.
Most of these people suck. When I mean suck, I mean the sounds that they emit make you want to light your body aflame, dive in salt water, and then bury yourself alive. Then after they’re done, these hosts lie to them and say that they’re good? I understand that it may be bad to say “Oh that was kinda bad, it needs some work” but they just lie to them as if they could make a career out of doing what they were doing.
In the rare moments of talent though, the performances are amazing. They sound absolutely beautiful too and solely restores humanity just a bit. It’s like having a mini concert but you kinda just don’t see the audience.
Therapy Talks
The things that they talk about on these type of discussions are d e e p. This is basically similar to the talent shows but instead the person shared what they’re going through and the hosts try and help them out which is pretty sweet.
I don’t think I would ever be able to talk about the things that people share in front of so many people and they have a piece of bravery that I currently don’t have. Suicide attempts, home problems, relationships, school, religion, literally everything.
The most fondest memory I have is from a couple weeks ago. This guy came on and was talking about how he’s in love with his friend and wasn’t sure if his friend felt the same way. Then, the hosts decided for the guy to invite his friend on since his friend was online and asked the friend if he was gay or not. In the end, his friend wasn’t gay but that was one of the most well done things on Discord I’ve ever seen.
Roleplay
I’m just gonna… never mind I’m too traumatized
Open Topic Conversation
Lastly on the list is the open topic discussion where usually the hosts invite 3-4 people up and makes them choose a side on a topic of the host’s choosing.
The topics usually are pretty controversial but quite entertaining. It’s actually quite nice to listen to a debate where people give their opinions almost like how podcasts work. It’s also interesting to see what people have to say about an opinion other than your own.
In these discussions there’s about a 1/25 chance spawn rate of a certain type of people. These people will purposely join the less popular side and then just lead the whole discussion. It’s actually quite amusing to hear.
Usually these topics could last for a couple minutes to a literal hour. Also don’t worry if you want to hear people yell over each other, luckily that happens too
