Stop Economy inflation

The only real issue you addressed with your suggestion is the price of spell/technique scrolls, which, while it is indeed an issue, can easily be remedied by making them accessible to fleets (maybe excluding losts).

Doing a change on this scale just worsens the economy even more, because the people who have and still are currently mass producing drachma with fleets would have an even tighter grip on the economy since fleets would be harder to get into.

Basically, this suggestion makes getting into fleets impossible, while giving the people at the top even more of a hold on the economy. Only real way to fix it is, as Presifir said, to keep the drachma gain inside of the fleet system so that the economy doesnt inflate further and eventually bottles out as the people at the top stop getting so much drachma, and as such they wouldn’t be as willing to drop hundreds of thousands on spells/techniques.

Broski, for sure the entirety of the fleet system would need a rework, however balancing at an individual level should be left to the devs. Could I do it and generate a whole new fleet system from scratch to account for this change (and frankly every other issue with this whole system) yes. Is it going to amount to anything? No.

Vetex is stubburn and likes doing things his own way, we’ve seen it time and time again. If you have any hope of adding a feature suggestion/change to the game, it better be simple and to the point so he can focus on the exact implementation, because frankly he’s either not reading all that, or will go out of his way to make it “his own”. I’ve seen this with many games with small dev teams, including AO, if you want change, its better to push a general Idea while presenting the problem than trying to write its detailed implementation.

This is an artificial fix that would clog more of the player’s inventory. The problem with inflation is that important items are gatekept behind 150k walls, so honestly I dont care if having more of these crucial items on the market reduces their value. And the cash fleets generate being only usable for fleets is bad because it doesnt solve the main problem. There is no money sink in the game.

In any economy where money is created from think air, there has to be a way to make it dissapear, thats the core of this suggestion. Fleets give you something to spend money on when there’s nothing else of value you can get from NPC’s.

The market exists, why spend money on fleets when you can buy the items you want? You say this is a problem when its not, if people can get what they want from the market at a reasonable price without having to invest in fleets, thats a good thing. Once everybody has bought most of the “cheap maket items” as you call them, then there will now be a lack of those items, and people will have to invest in fleets again to generate them. The cycle repeats until a balance is reached.

You’re missing the point, the problem is what’s the point of keeping fleets at all if the marketplace is going to be the smartest and efficient thing to do compared to using fleets with this suggestion…

Except that’s not what happened before fleets existed, people still kept on using the marketplace because lo and behold, people hoard items. On paper that’s ideal on what people would do but on practice with evidence we have (The state of marketplace both in-game and discord pre-fleets) that isn’t the case. So as I would point out again, fleets just becomes useless with this suggestion and that’s a problem in game design.

Then what’s the point of making a suggestion that’s incomplete or comparable to a slop suggestion… It’s no surprise that by now Vetex has gotten the message that fleets ruined the economy but it’s clear by now that reworking it is low priority which is why:

This suggestion isn’t made simple, it’s made lazily. You could’ve just you know, not make a suggestion if it’s not fleshed out or that you don’t think it would amount to anything since the whole point of why you need to apply for the suggestor role is to make suggestions more higher quality…

The idea was that they have a separate tag but if it’s the same owner then it would count as one stack. It’s possible but as I said before it’s too complex so I doubt Vetex would do it (Well any suggestion in the forums) which is why I didn’t bother making a suggestion to begin with.

I already explained, its right below the thing you quoted.

You’re not even making a point here, just claiming you’re right and vagueposting about the prior state of the market.

To make it clear the game needs a drachma sink

:skull:

“Vagueposting” when anyone who interacted with the marketplace before fleets immediately know what I’m talking about, at this point you just proved that you’re willing to turn a blind eye to what the marketplace was like before fleets simply because it benefits your point. Rather than making a pointless “fix”, just say you want fleets removed.

Agreed but anyone sensible enough would realize that fleets just doesn’t work well as a drachma sink as either it will be too inefficient and useless when made as one or too overpowered when isn’t. If you want there to be a drachma sink in the game then maybe not tie it with something where you can obtain tradeable items.

Anyways it’s clear that you’ll just make up stuff on paper without thinking how it would definitely happen in practice to support your points considering this is how you think would happen:

When in reality, those high quality items that are now cheap would either:

A.) Have no one buy them because everyone has a shitton of them or no one lists them because no one buys them for having a shitton of them, which in return reduces the reason as to why you should even sink drachma for fleets in the long run with this suggestion.

B.) If fleets gets balanced after this suggestion, then fleets just becomes a rarely used feature to grind for items because of expensive inefficiency. No, they won’t “cycle until a balance is reached” with fleets because it’s too expensive for very few items (How does this not get into your head unless you’re intentionally ignoring it because it’s a blatant Ignoratio Elenchi move at this point).

If you really can’t dispute my points because you made a lazy suggestion then I guess have a nice day or night. Last thing that I could say is that maybe next time don’t make a suggestion if you think that:

what point are you even trying to make with the old state of the market, I cant even dispute anything if you dont explain that
