I mean that’s because it’s tied to a task that ultimately gives infinite drachma but I guess you’ll ignore that.
Again, you outright ignored the balances that comes with your suggestion. It’s getting obvious at this point that you’re ignoring that fact because it’s the only flaw to this suggestion which is assuming why you didn’t even include it in your suggestion and only used vague agreeable phrases. Let me put it out simply for you since you’re not addressing the elephant in the room.
This suggestion would require to adjust the drachma used per tick because as you said:
With it most likely being higher because as you said:
Now I don’t know what “good items” you have in mind but I doubt it means including common and uncommon items so that means primarily rares and above which ultimately results in reduced drop rates. Vetex isn’t just gonna include getting sunkens, acrimonies, lost knowledges because obviously that’s overpowered. Spells/technique scrolls won’t even have a chance considering Vetex is adamant on making them obtainable through chests and frankly, players are used to the current system already. Basically this means fleet tasks would just become even way more expensive than it currently is without even any way to reasonably grind enough drachma for “a lot” of high quality items and be sane enough to just waste it all on inefficient grind.
This leaves us with the a version of fleets with this suggestion in mind:
-
Drachma per tick would be 10x the base value of the item considering you’re trying to mass produce rares and above. This basically means on top of draining 75K drachma, it could potentially mean adding a ~150K for the high quality items.
-
Since you can only get rares and above, the drop rates would be reduced as this is the most probable thing that Vetex would do when he reads “only high quality items”.
-
Levelling up a task would now only just give a slight increase in drop rates rather than unlocking higher rarity items. This means that level 1 tasks ultimately costs more than 50K to use for new players which is way beyond their means.
-
You’ll also need more than 10 million drachma since it becomes really expensive to level up a task with no way to quickly earn enough drachma, meaning it would take someone who plays AO daily about half a year to max out a fleet from scratch or a new/casual player taking 1.5+ years to max it out.
-
Conquest becomes the least used tasks since it automatically costs you to spend 110K in 4C setting (Since this is the most efficient setting for conquest as going for below 4C gives you waaaay less stuff).
-
Harvesting becomes the mostly used task since reagents and catalysts are the only thing left to grind for after you get your endgame loot.
-
Since trading task just becomes useless, it gets removed and getting rare cannonballs and T2 enchants would be given to exploration task.
-
Patrol/Plunder becomes useless as no one would use it to get ~40 followers (This is around the highest) as someone who just started out fleets in exchange for more or less 20K drachma, or ~10 followers for someone who already maxed it out in exchange for 75K drachma.
-
Fishing task becomes somewhat useful since pre-fleets rare and exotic sharks cost between 5K-25K. Though considering gankers barely exists in the overworld now with the addition of ranked matches, there’s little to none that would use this task.
-
Exploration task becomes somewhat useful only if you get blasted/imbued fair amulets which are really rare to get on top of the balance changes that Vetex would undoubtedly give with this suggestion. No, other modified amulets or magic/fighter sets won’t be worth overpricing because as seen pre-fleets, anything else that isn’t blasted fair amulets are set around 3K-10K.
With these in mind and considering your suggestion is just extremely vague, new/casual players won’t even touch fleets after spending hundred thousands of drachma with very few gains.
Considering drachma prices of items goes back to pre-fleets with this suggestion, it becomes ultimately cheaper to buy items directly from the marketplace rather than spending more or less 225K in 20 minutes for few high quality items of what you need and the rest being not enough to even recoup the cost.
Yet little to no dum dum is gonna buy overpriced items now that drachma has value again. Have you even used the marketplace before fleets arrived? Considering most rare/exotic/legendary items that can be obtained in fleets used to be priced around 300-500/1K-5K/10K-15K then on top of having the obvious reduced drop rate balance, this is in no way efficient and trying to make a net positive by overpricing them in a state where drachma is now harder to grind but has value is obviously gonna bring very little to no profits at all, not to mention auction tax and listing cost exists now.
By “a lot” you mean ~20 rares, ~5 exotics, ~1 legendary drop rates in exchange for having to spend 225K drachma in 20 minutes using 4 same task setting (Since at this point no one’s gonna go below 4 same task setting since you’re wasting even more drachma to get even fewer items).
Now unless you actually come up with good ways to prevent such things from happening, this suggestion ultimately becomes a worthless bandaid fix, with reasons I stated above, which turns fleets into something the rich players would occasionally use to drain their drachma on because they have nothing to spend it with.
As someone said it as well:
Since you only gave out vague agreeable stuff that tries to bait for votes from people dumb enough to not even read or comprehend your suggestion and just voted because it’s “stop economy inflation”. There’s a very good reason as to why there’s only 2 votes despite being about a way to fix fleets inflating the economy even after half a day has passed, this suggestion just doesn’t fix anything, it just creates another problem.
