Stranded Ships would be NPC ships lost in the sea. They would be announced in the news, and when a player finds them the player could tell the captain to follow the player. Good rep players could lead the ships to any positive rep towns for XP, galleons, and fame. Bad rep players could lead the ships to any negative rep towns (rn just Whitesummit) for XP, galleons, bounty, and items. The bad rep player would also have to defeat the crew, deckhands, and captain on the stranded ship to get special items and chests from the ship. (Edit 1): Sailboats would give 1-2 items, caravels would give 3-4, ketches would give 5-7, and brigs would give 8-10. Bigger ships would have higher chance of rarer items.

i like the good rep part, but the bad rep just seems like the normal sink the ship to get loot thing, with extra hustle

The bad rep thing should give things from the dark sea to make it worthwhile

i guess it should

It would be similar, but getting the ship to bad-rep bases would give you galleons too, and you would also get any items that the ship stumbled upon.

Sailboats would give 1-2 items, Caravels would give 3-4, Ketches would give 4-6, and Brigs would give 6-8. The items would all be your level rounded down to the nearest hundred. (this info is now added to the main post)

Bigger ships would have rarer items. (this info is now added to the main post)

The whole thing is meant to be a kind of side thing you could do for when you get out of the dark sea for a bit of extra loot. The ship would stop with you too, so you could just take the ship with you and when you’re done with the dark sea, leave and take the ship to its destination.

This just seems like bigger castaways that are in the dark sea, though the idea isn’t necessarily bad because of it. However the dark sea is quite far from any town so I feel like saving these ships would be the same as saving yourself (getting out of the dark sea alive).

Overall I don’t understand how this would add much to the game. Players already want to get out of the dark sea alive, stranded ships don’t add any new gameplay or incentives/benefits for the player. Not to mention the many bugs that would come from ships following you and docking at towns.

Despite this I think having something to hunt in the dark sea with the location given via some means would be neat.

(Also bad reps shouldn’t get infamy from saving ships as that’s a clan only feature. I assume you meant bounty but you should correct that)

man if only they could call attention to themselves

I like this but it feels a bit barebones rn

castaway (in a boat)

I see what you mean, and I agree that it’s a bit unessecary but it would still be interesting (I think) to find a ship you heard about in the news.
