Stromneve Technique
A technique used by boxers who are part of the Assassin Syndicate. Used to remain inconspicuous, free up use of your hands, and make the user harder to catch off guard while maintaining the benefits of using Boxing Gloves. Following the same naming scheme as Vima, being Norwegian, meaning “to drift or wander aimlessly”, Stromneve (roughly) translates to “Current Fist”.
Details
This would be taught by a Boxer in either The Red Corner, or The Dead Halls. They would be largely dismissive of any player speaks to them, but if the player is a user of the Boxing fighting style, they would be intrigued and strike up a conversation if spoken to, revealing they also use Boxing. The conversation would progress with the player asking how they use the fighting style without gloves, at which case they would reveal the Stromneve technique to them, and even offer to teach them for a fee of 300 galleons, the technique itself having a 100 strength requirement, to represent needing a higher level of fighting style mastery to learn than regular Boxing.
This would entirely replace the boxing gloves on your player model, and instead while Boxing is equipped an aura of whirling wind and compressed air would appear around your hands, vanishing when unequipped.
After a certain level, Criminal Boxers, and Boxers who are part of the Assassin Syndicate, will have a chance to spawn with Stromneve instead of Boxing Gloves, increasing with level, with Assassin Syndicate NPC’s having a greater chance.
If you return to Souvella without gloves and speak to her, you can tell her about what you learned, at which she’ll be somewhat intrigued, but otherwise dismissive as she doesn’t care for subterfuge and trickery, or you can tell her you lost your gloves, and she’ll replace them for 200 galleons.
Reason to add/change
This suggestion is mainly aimed at allowing more creativity in how players present themselves when they use Boxing, as while it is a very fun fighting style, it greatly reduces the amount of creativity you can put into your characters vanity and is very intrusive, even when hidden with handwraps.
Furthermore, I think it would fit in lore for more experienced Boxing users to develop a technique that allows them to never be caught off guard, be more inconspicuous while acting undercover, as the Assassin Syndicate would likely be doing, and free up their hands when boxing isn’t being used to more easily use weapons and magic.
