so recently a bunch of titanic tourists went missing, so the reason why i brought this up is
would you ride in sub controlled by this:
This shit is wild
I didn’t even know it was an option to ride a submarine to the Titanic wreckage, terrifying as fuck situation
250k dollars to get a ticket
yeah so like today in class we had to watch this video about the indigenous solstice celebrations, and like a quarter of the schools classes from different grades also did (this was in a presentation).
the whole time I was thinking “I wonder what those five guys slowly asphyxiating in a submarine are doing while I’m busy tuning out this video”
aint no way bro
no way someone is ACTUALLY going to board a ship controlled by… that.
I mean not everyone knows the ship that cost a quarter of a million dollars to get on would be piloted by a modified logitech controller
I would not trust a controller, especially a logitech one with my life
I once bought a logitech mouse, it broke in a month. Didn’t even drop it on the ground or anything, it just stopped working
chances are they’re stranded because it broke lol
if the wreck is ever found, logitech would be ruined
“So… We lost how the submarine steers.”
“Ah thats a shame…”
“Oh! Lets replace it with a gaming controller surely nothing will go wrong!”
They were never seen again
one stick drift and its over
Gaming controllers are actually used by the military for controlling some stuff, like operating cameras or unmanned flying things. If I had to be worried about the controller, it’d be the fact that there was reportedly no backup in the submarine, so if that one broke, the passengers would be done for unless if somebody knew how to fix it.
I’d be a lot more worried about being stuck at the bottom of the ocean, though. Took me a hundred or so hours in AO to understand thalassophobia.
Yeah they do but I find it bizarre that they do anyway.
Why have some complicated joystick when you can grab the best gamer in the regiment and give them a controller
To me the experience itself seemed more like something out of a thriller fiction than something humans would actually do in real life
well the concerning part is that it’s a god damn logitech controller.
Absolutely not.
Looks like a recipe for disaster.
The controller does not really matter for this honestly, feels more like something that is easy to make fun of to deviate from the actual issue. Say if it goes bust, it can be easily replaced with a duplicate if such is brought upon the vessel.
Too much things can go wrong at depths like that, and it probably has something to do with the submarine cutting corners in terms of safety features and communication.
how big were they?
must be huge to describe them as titanic
