Instead what it could do (in ships bigger than the brig) is have the skyship be INSIDE of the ship. When you need to get it out, you go to the storage area and interact with it, similar to the current ship storage interaction, or it can be by talking to your quartermaster. Then it comes up by itself, and then starts going up only after the player holds the steering wheel. That way it also makes it more visually appealing and cool ig.
This abilitiy can only be used on certain spots, this stops it from being using as an escape ability of sorts.
The magic storage thingy gets decreased by 100 while ascending, and the ship automatically stops increasing height after the sails are trigged. After that happens fuel consumption will return to normal.
In the stepstones, it is heavily filled with magic energy which allows players to jump heigher, and allows light materials to be slowly lead upwards. This might allow skship to be recharged?
In the nimbus sea, you could use all your energy to go up onto the volcano, where it then goes up due to it’s winds or whatever it was that makes you go up.
Other variations of this could be added in the dark sea.
If your ship sinks, it costs 400? to get a new one. If it takes damage before getting returned you will have to repair it, however shipwrights also have an option to.
These ships will also be customizable in a way, being able to be painted and have hull armor, maybe even ship hunting attachments. There will be seperate tabs in the shipyard for this.
The skyship isn’t ACTUALLY inside the ship, it just spawns when it’s toggled. This prevents some lag and being able to move the ship if you get stuck inside yours.
If you aren’t in an area where it can be spawned, the quartermaster would say that there is no way for it to get up, and an error message will show explaining the system.
Similar thing could be used for the diving bell.
