I don’t know I’m bored. Unlike my previous 2 suggestions, almost no yapping in this one. Yeah I just wanna make an idea for a sunken weapon really, that’s basically it. I could go the lazier route and just go “oh yeah this suggestion is just the Sunken Champion set” but no, I’d prefer to make something original. I’m sure Vetex plans on adding Champion at some point in the future regardless. Anyway.

I’m gonna call this the Sunken Oni set. It’d be, design-wise, based on onis from Japanese mythology. I like to think that according to lore, there was simply a group of cult-like people (similar to Greenwish, or perhaps a branch, but I don’t want to mess with Vetex’s lore) who, at some point, died out alongside whatever they worshipped, and all that’s left is their arcanium attire which had sunk to the sea.

Instead of a normal helmet, there’d be a mask, alongside what would be described as robes layered with arcanium chainmail. This way, it still serves defensive properties while also looking robe-like, because personally I wouldn’t want to do any form of daily routine nor ritual in a regular suit or armor.

As for the weapon, I was thinking of either a dagger (likely daggers often used during sacrifical rituals to gods) or a club (generally the weapon used by Oni) I’ll just make ideas for both because I’m bored.

The dagger would be red in design, with an orange blood-groove and what look like flames extending off the hilt. It would, of course, apply soaked (maybe make it purple so people don’t think of burning when they see it, but still technically applying the red.)

As for the club, it would probably be spiked, with arcanium chips coming out, making it look similar to a kanabo. This would also obviously apply soaked, and the chips would likely be red/purple in color.

Might as well make their moves as well since Sunken Weapons always replace one.

For the dagger, I’m gonna replace Dagger Throw, and give it Wave Expel. Doing this would swing the weapon, creating a fast moving, large projectile, similar to Flying Slash, alongside two smaller ones alongside it (similar to Mountain Gale). These slashes would be red/purple in color, like how Maria and Kai’s weapons have their own associated colors as well.

For the club/kanabo, I’m going to get rid of Brutal Rush, and replace it with Ocean’s Grasp. In this grab move, you dash up to your opponent, grab them by the throat before bashing them in the head with your club multiple times. You then toss them into the ground and throw your club after them, causing major knockback and probably always sending them straight down. Basically Rushdown with a Sledgehammer finisher I suppose.

just realized i’m not done yapping i forgot what stat this’d give.

probably power makes the most sense. the gear in my mind is red in color, lots of emphasis on brute strength and intellect, so it makes the most sense.

i think if the champion set is revised it’d probably just give defense, maybe resistance too. it looks like a bulky set (reminds me of Juggernaut from Marvel), so that’d make the most sense.

good idea, might want to save this one for later game tho (like somewhere in the Ryujin Dynasty sorta story)

yeah that was my idea. i can’t really imagine another stat fitting since the armor’s red in color and has hints of brutality with it’s lore

Power+Defense is literally the most goated things you can have

good point. the amount of power would probably be super low but even then it’d still be pretty good. my only other idea is possibly intensity, but intensity sucks rn and even after the rework i doubt it’ll be great

what about power and armor piercing? armor piercing was the stat that immediately came to my mind when you said the gear was gonna be reddish

oh duh, armor piercing makes a lot of sense. sorry, i keep forgetting about the new stats because they’ve seemed kinda irrelevent so far to me, and i only played nimbus like, a month after it was out.

It would be cool to have a spirit sunken. Poseidon and all that.

Or just a “sunken-like” item which can only be dug up from certain biomes. Like the spirit weapon of Ares and his set you can get from blasted islands

This is kinda hard to read since it’s basically just a slightly-messy description of stuff that probably is cool (if there was any half-decent art or sketch then this suggestion would pop off).

The sunken weapon ideas are a bit more fun than the armor, but neither of them are really as game changing as Rising Tide or Fury of the Sea. The former is a unique movement/damage ability for weapons while the latter is a pulsar clone (but unique compared to other weapons). The two new abilities proposed don’t seem like they’d heavily change how weapons play. You aim the first the same way as you would with most projectiles and the second is basically a sledgehammer grab.

I can’t really support a suggestion that literally adds more sunken items to the game (bad for the game imo), not to mention how it’s already confirmed sorta.

i originally thought sunken items were going to be divided up by seas, like we’d find sunken iron in Bronze, Warrior in Nimbus, etc. This would be cool too, like on certain islands there’s sunken-like items you can find. it could even be like, if vetex wants to be cruel, a 1/2000 chance every time you dig to find an Earth Arcanium item (like, Buried Armor or something idk)

yeah i was kinda lost on what to add, especially for the club since i haven’t seen a soul actually use one.

i also agree with this because it just further lessens the chance of getting whatever specific sunken item you’d want (with the chance becoming 4 less every time a new set would be introduced), but i thought it’d be fun to make a concept regardless since it’s gonna end up happening regardless (the addition of new sunkens)

blue with a hint of red/purple the way that sunken staff has a hint of green and sword is fully blue
